Neighbourly relations - Allenby

An Allenby home built in the 1930's, this traditional 2 storey home was saddled with 3 small bedrooms, only one bathroom and tight segmented layout. The home had no insulation in the walls, a poorly insulated attic storage space and tired finishes. The owners needed a proper suite, and space for the family to interact and stretch out with some independence if desired or required.

Dark gumwood trim created an entry and stairwell that was depressing, though well textured. Painting of the wainscoting and trim and the creation of a new skylight helped brighten this space.

dated mirrored doors made this former master bedroom seem larger, but wasn't needed when converted to a kids room, while the addition off the back of the home housed the larger Master Suite. Proper painted doors updated the aesthetic.
