Vaishnavi Splendor
It's always a delight to visit a space you've designed, a couple of months after the home owners have moved in and made it truly their own.
This project was done in collaboration with @EarthMade. Our favourite part is the open style staircase. The stairs were already narrow and it didn't help that it was initially hidden behind a solid wall that made it feel even more cramped. So we broke that wall and stepped it to open up the stairs, and also to take advantage of the window on the mid landing to throw light into the library area on the lower level. Then we removed the stainless steel railing which was on the right of the stairs, built a wooden partition and added a door to create storage below the stairs in an otherwise dead and possibly messy space. Finally, we replaced the steel railing with a wooden handrail
Another favourite is the enclosed balcony of the bedroom prettied up with printed encaustic tiles on the floor.
