Gayathri and Anirudhh

Home interiors are truly about the people who live in them. The designer has to understand the home owners and figure out how to mesh various styles and tastes together - the husband's, wife's, children's and finally, the designer's own.

The original vitrified flooring cracked along the central line, so instead of replacing the whole floor, we decided instead to insert a 'carpet' of light mocha tiles on the diagonal in place of the broken patches and inserted some beautiful Nitco mosaics

The lady of the house loves bright colours. After much discussion, we settled on a charcoal with canary yellow, but then I introduced patches of white that would tone down the scheme, yet allow her personality to shine through.

The wall opposite the mocha was painted in soft butter yellow as a backdrop to the rich jade cabinets

We decided to have a wall hung crockery unit and give it a vintage painted finish. The two differently sized vertical units are connected with two slim wooden shelves. The shutters and sides have clear glass panels.

The Master bedroom has a large wardrobe which combines both coloured glass panels and tile inlay in the shutters
