This has to be one of the most fun projects I have ever done. Since it is the home of two academics and their children, I hadn't expected so many detailed discussions on colours and textures. But Esha, the lady of the house, is quite the artist herself. So we talked everyday.. soo many excited conversations, so many ideas shared (our WhatsApp chats alone are a treasure trove of images) Initially she had only wanted to change the kitchen floor, but as we went along, I felt that it would be incomplete without replacing the dado tiles. By a series of lucky accidents, the diagonal trellis motif kept appearing through the house, whether in flooring, fabric, or wood panels. And it ties all the spaces together seamlessly
