My Kitchen Makeover

I have used my quaint, but impractical old kitchen for 21 years. The layout bothered me since the architect had placed the hob against the window wall, and the sink on the opposite side. Which meant i would end up with an impossible-to-clean, greasy window and a grimy exhaust fan above, since I could not elegantly install a chimney over the window. I kept trying face-lifts, but that didn't help. So a month ago, after having designed over a hundred kitchens for others, i decided it was time for me to do my own. The floor and wall tiles were ripped off, the window was resized, gas piping was rerouted below the floor to the correct side of the galley kitchen, storage was redone from scratch.
Once again, I stepped away from my usual colourful palette and went with soothing shades of beige, cream and brown. I retained certain elements- the huddi block roof (painted over) because i love its textured rusticity, the exposed water purifier and ladles.
So here we are- a modern, efficient kitchen which is packed with storage and is yet spacious, with practical touches like vents for the microwave and convection ovens, and a dedicated phone charging station. And the tile runner on the floor that reflects the light panel above
