This garden path was created next to the new master bedroom addition we designed as part of the Orr Residence renovation. The curving limestone paver path is defined by the plantings. RDM and the client selected plantings that are very happy in the shade as this part of the yard gets very little direct sunlight. Hanging baskets for now but the homeowner will eventually plant vines to grow up and over the arbor, creating a "doorway" to the dining area. Pavers are Anchor Charleston - the untumbled version - color: Northwoods.

Location: Spring Lake, NJ, US Our design goal for this renovation and addition was to present a modern interpretation of Colonial Plantation Style. This home features dark wood floors, wood paneling and a light soothing color scheme. The Dining Room features classic silk De Gournay Wallpaper which further fuses the indoor and outdoor seamlessness of the home. The amazing tile installations permeate the decor with color, texture and pattern. The shaker-style kitchen is refreshed by using black cabinetry, a custom stainless hood and La Cornue Range. We enjoyed adding vintage finds throughout - a farm table for the Kitchen, Bergere chairs in the Entry, and a Victorian Flower mirror in the Powder Room. threshold interiors ensures that your beach retreat is elegant, transitional and most importantly comfortable and relaxing! The color changing lights illuminate the pool blue, the pocketing glass doors in teak create a seamless transition between the indoors and outdoors. The expansive lanai floor is gray porcelain tile and the outdoor teak furniture is covered in brightly colored fabrics in orange and blues. The orange and brown glazed pots are clustered around one of the ebony columns to create a tropical container garden. An antique daybed was converted into a swinging bed and hangs outside the master bedroom suite. The exterior walls are white board and batten, the eaves and chunky rafters are an ebony stain. the roofing material is rough sawn shake.

The Upper Garden with 'Ha-Ha' wall: One side of the sinuous retaining stone wall is faced with stone, the other face sloped and turfed, forms a green pool for the upper garden. The ha-ha wall backed by Annabelle Hydrangeas conceals the driveway from sight and extends the view to the lower garden as one looks out from the house through the Zelkovas.They are planted between the hydrangeas and act as a first buffer to the busy street set behind the Lower Garden. This California art and exercise studio located near the Pacific Ocean incorporates Quantum’s custom wood Signature Series windows and Lift & Slide doors. The architect called for Clear Vertical Grain (CVG) Douglas Fir throughout the project with Ironwood Sills used on the Lift & Slide doors. Sequential angled windows with sandblasted, or obscure, glass allow for natural lighting to enter indoors, yet add ventilation, security, and privacy for its inhabitants. Steel reinforced mullions satisfy the need for structural integrity. Inside the studio are found interior hanging panels with sandblasted glass sliding along an overhead track system. These panels allow for the building’s interior to be partitioned off into two distinct spaces. Leading to the exterior are bypass pocketing Lift & Slide doors complete with screens. To further enhance security no flush pulls were installed on the exterior of the door panels.
