One of the real joys of this project was the restoration and refurbishment of the original staircase after many decades of subdivision.
This leads from the double-height entrance hall (with new mosaic flooring to match the original) to the top of the house, past a beautiful new stained glass window by Aldo Diana.

During remodel phase of this home, expansive bookshelves that soar two stories were incorporated. This balanced out the stately stone fireplace. Chandeliers were added to provide light and also fill the space cased by the two-story ceiling. Turned wood staircase spindles were added, making the room feel warm and cozy.

The entry foyer and hall are visually separated from the living room by an arched opening and Craftsman column without closing it off from the rest of the space or diminishing the natural light from the front door. The stairs spill into the entryway without crowding it. The newel post resides comfortably on the quaint little landing that is furnished like a small room. A series of arches lead you down the hall to an art niche.

This project involved the remodelling of the ground and first floors and a small rear addition at a Victorian townhouse in Notting Hill.
The brief included opening-up the ground floor reception rooms so as to increase the illusion of space and light, and to fully benefit from the view of the landscaped communal garden beyond.

Bisca Staircases
Bisca created two staircases in this North London property . The first, a feature staircase is from ground to first floor which fills the space providing a luxurious staircase with an amazing flow. The second staircase, equally beautiful from first to ground floor pool, takes influences from the main staircase to create a stunning and comfortable staircase within the space.
The feature oak staircase is offset from the wall creating a floating appearance as is the soffit under the staircase to allow for dramatic under-lighting and a white plastered parapet balustrade is capped with flowing and elegant handrail.
The pool staircase follows the same theme of white plastered balustrade but with Walnut treads and a balustrade on the opposite wall.
