Created a landing at the top of the staircase to go to the opposite sides of the home. The steps straight ahead go around the staircase foyer to a painters loft for the lady of the home. The steps on the right lead to the the sleeping quarters, balcony and 2nd laundry room.

Elite Metalcraft designed, manufactured and installed a matching pair of contemporary helical staircases for the refurbishment of a large North London residence. Both staircases were built to the same specification; painted steel stringers, structural glass balustrade and a sweeping plaster soffit. The stair layouts varied, the lower following a gently sweeping curve whereas the upper stair took a tight 180 degree turn. Combined they produce a stunning addition to the dramatic modern interior. This “cool” looking bespoke oak staircase with a quarter landing was designed for a private client. They undertook the challenge of transforming an out-dated residence into a sleek, contemporary, open living space. One of the client’s requirements for the Kevala Stairs design team was to retain the storage cupboard. We love challenges and our team suggested a re-design of the first floor gallery landing and by re-shaping it, a new cupboard space was created underneath on the ground floor and away from the staircase, allowing it to become a feature of the hallway. The new wider design of the staircase has created a more comfortable access to the first floor. The entry tread has a square bullnose to maintain the modern look. Glass balustrading was incorporated in the design to open up the space, allowing unhindered views throughout. Kevala Stairs also supplied and installed 85m2 of corresponding oak floorboards in sky grey colour fusing the staircase and the floor together to create a beautiful contemporary living space. Our eclectic modern home remodel project turned a closed-off home filled with heavy wood details into a contemporary haven for hosting with creative design choices, making the space feel up to date and ready to host lively gatherings. The main living space that hosts the large custom walnut and steel staircase was a significant upgrade from the heavy wood that closed off other parts of the house from one another. This new staircase is inviting and creates flow from one level to another. The entryway is welcoming with an arched built-in and incredible custom front door. This space also received an upgraded stone fireplace; together with the oversized windows, this space is a cozy gathering space for friends and family.
