Located in Toronto’s Beaches district, 150_W addresses the challenges of maximizing southern exposure within an east-west oriented mid-lot while exploring opportunities for extended outdoor living spaces designed for the Canadian climate. The building’s plan and section is focused around a south-facing side-yard terrace creating an L-shaped cantilevered volume which helps shelter it from the winter winds while leaving it open to the warmth of the winter sun. This side terrace engages the site and home both spatially and environmentally, extending the interior living environment to a protected outdoor space for year-round use, while providing the framework for integrated passive design strategies. Orange is the theme colour of the living room. It has a wooden suspended ceiling complementing the theme colour and it defines the living area. A long, low level TV unit finished in Teak, Glass & White membrane fixed on the highlighted stone wall accommodates the home-theatre & music systems. This highlighted wall is clad in grey slate stones and a lacquer coating has been provided for a wet look. Hidden LED spotlights are used as wall washers to give the room a classy, rich and well illuminated look.

Generously sized to serve as a spacious desk, our Everyday Rustic Wood Desk can be customized to meet your office needs. The sturdy legs and simple lines of our Everyday Rustic Custom Wood Desk give it a classic look that will complement many styles in your home or office. Three styles available: Basic Desk: Made out of solid wood, the basic wood desk measures 48" L x 28" D x 30"H. Two shallow drawers and one deep drawer are mounted with ball-bearing drawer slides and can be positioned on either side (please specify in notes section at checkout). Hardware is finished in an antique bronze finish. Desk with Hutch: Made out of solid wood, the additional hutch rests right on top of basic desk (see details above) and measures 45" L x 12" D x 8" H. The Porch House located just west of Springfield, Missouri, presented Hufft Projects with a unique challenge. The clients desired a residence that referenced the traditional forms of farmhouses but also spoke to something distinctly modern. A hybrid building emerged and the Porch House greets visitors with its namesake – a large east and south facing ten foot cantilevering canopy that provides dramatic cover. The residence also commands a view of the expansive river valley to the south. L-shaped in plan, the house’s master suite is located in the western leg and is isolated away from other functions allowing privacy. The living room, dining room, and kitchen anchor the southern, more traditional wing of the house with its spacious vaulted ceilings.
