There is contrast between the traditional furniture and the focal point of the floor which pops, draws attention. I would recover the sofas in cream colored soft fabric - suede. I would leave the curtains grey, and put down a large neutral area rug. The edges of the room would show the pattern of the floor. I would color the wall and add texture to it, but not too dark as the room will appear smaller. Add a picture and put a nice plant holder, large vase in the left corner of the room - an oriental-style vase. Or, a cream-stripe fabric on the sofas. You could go soft or bold in this room - depending on your taste.

Potted plants and bench seating might work. You could put step stones with a ground cover that will spread in between. Your local nursery should be able to help you decide what would work best on something like that.

The next would be to waterproof the top again, keeping in mind the soil and the constant contact with water. Hi Kaajal, i have a big bakul/maulsari (mimusops elengi) tree in my courtyard. it is generally bigger in size than the Neem tree. in couryard, trees are realy beautiful, it make simpe house elegant. just do not cover the area with any hardware things like cements, stone etc. Roots need rain water and sun rays hence simple earth filing is better. or you can cover it with grass. in my house, the courtyard is only earth filled.
