A unique combination of traditional design and an unpretentious, family-friendly floor plan, the Pemberley draws inspiration from European traditions as well as the American landscape. The overall impact of this kitchen space is the defining element in the overall scheme for the project. We were able to flip around a stone fireplace to become a dominant focal point in the interior space. We created a central axis from front to rear by the addition of the massive window wall leading to the outdoor entertaining area. Clearly the woodwork and the attention to every detail are evident in the final product. This unique kitchen is the focal point of 2 complimentary buildings which have been connected to form a beautiful master suite on one side and a lively family room and dining room on the other. This central open kitchen is the focal point for this sensitive and creative renovation. Custom walnut cabinets and built-ins and Danby marble countertops blend perfectly with the carefully re-pointed stone walls of the original walls of the existing buildings.

Winner of the 2018 Tour of Homes Best Remodel, this whole house re-design of a 1963 Bennet & Johnson mid-century raised ranch home is a beautiful example of the magic we can weave through the application of more sustainable modern design principles to existing spaces. We worked closely with our client on extensive updates to create a modernized MCM gem. Kowalske Kitchen & Bath was the remodeling contractor for this beautiful Waukesha first floor remodel. The homeowners recently purchased the home and wanted to immediately update the space. The old kitchen was outdated and closed off from the great room. The goal was to design an open-concept space for hosting family and friends. LAYOUT The first step was to remove the awkward dining room walls. This made the room feel large and open. We tucked the refrigerator into a wall of cabinets so it didn’t impose. Seating at the island and peninsula makes the kitchen very versatile. DESIGN We created an elegant entertaining space to take advantage of the lake view. The Waukesha homeowners wanted a contemporary design with neutral colors and finishes. They chose soft gray lower cabinets and white upper cabinets. We added texture with wood accents and a herringbone marble backsplash tile. The desk area features a walnut butcher block countertop. We also used walnut for the open shelving, detail on the hood and the legs on the island. CUSTOM CABINETRY Frameless custom cabinets maximize storage in this Waukesha kitchen. The upper cabinets have hidden light rail molding. Angled plug molding eliminates outlets on the backsplash. Drawers in the lower cabinets allow for excellent storage. The cooktop has a functioning top drawer with a hidden apron to hide the guts of the cooktop. The clients also asked for a home office desk area and pantry cabinet.

We designed this kitchen specifically for our clients. We had worked with them in the past. Quite frankly doing a facelift of their existing kitchen where we had them install the fantastic random Forbo Marmoleum floor that is in this photo. When it came time to totally redo the kitchen we weren't ready to get rid of the floor so it stayed and everything else is new around it. The perimeter cabinets are bamboo and the island is painted as well as the upper cabinets except for the aluminum and glass doors. The existing window was painted black to blend better with new contemporary design and the wall between the living room and kitchen was partially removed to open the space.

This white handleless kitchen from our in-toto Loft range sits perfectly in this Scandinavian inspired open plan kitchen/ living room. Installed within a converted flat situated in a period Victorian property it shows that modern styles can blend with a more traditional home with perfect synergy. This design also features Miele Pureline appliances in Cleansteel, Silestone worktops with a mitred downstand and a Quooker Boiling Water Tap to minimise clutter on the work surfaces and keep that minimalist appearance. Solid oak floating shelves have been added over the hob, utilising the space created by installing a downdraft extractor to maintain the open feel of the kitchen.

The homeowners were eager to expand their living space to accommodate their family's needs for entertaining, hanging out & enjoying dinners together. They also desired to update the decor to match the rest of their beautiful home. To create a more connected space, walls were removed and doorways relocated. Mom's office was tucked into a "hide-away" room in the corner. A clean, neutral palette creates a peaceful space and allows for the owners to showcase their colorful art.
