An updated master bath with hints of traditional styling really helped create the perfect oasis for these empty nesters. A few things on the wish list: a large mirror, and seated vanity space, a new freestanding tub, and a more open shower look with lots of options! Take a look at all of the fun materials that brought this space to life. This beautiful white and gray marble floor and shower tile inspired the design for this bright and spa-like master bathroom. Gold sparkling flecks throughout the tile add warmth to an otherwise cool palette. Luxe gold fixtures pick up those gold details. Warmth and soft contrast were added through the butternut wood mantel and matching shelves for the toilet room. Our details are the mosaic side table, towels, mercury glass vases, and marble accessories. The bath tub was a must! Truly a treat to enjoy a bath by the fire in this romantic space. The corner shower has ample space and luxury. Leaf motif marble tile are used in the shower floor. Patterns and colors are connected throughout the space for a cohesive, warm, and bright space.

Silver Shadow Honed Marble

This white bathroom has a white and grey tile floor and a white freestanding bathtub. A mini chandelier hangs on the ceiling, and silver and gold metal accents run throughout.

Our client wanted a clean and classic Master Bath Suite. Initially, I designed 3 different options, but option 1 was a home run for the client and also my favorite based on thier wishlist. The vanity and mirror are custom made for the space with a 12 step dark stain process that allows the depth of the grain to show through. It took about 10 sample runs to get the finish just right, not too red and not too dark. We built the massive mirror to "float" off the wall so that it would visually lighten the space. The shower glass was detailed so that it appears seamless against the shower bench. We used Carerra marble throughout.

The new en suite master bathroom was designed with spa like luxury. The floors and walls in the main area of the bath are calacatta marble with a custom designed marble "rug" from Waterworks. The walls of the shower are a glass mosaic.

This is a bathroom project we completed for singer/songwriter Matt Dusk - the beautiful 12x24 marble tiles laid out in a brick pattern with minimal grout looks like one huge slab of stone. This project received the award for the 2010 CT Homebuilder's Association Best Bathroom Renovation. It features a 5500 pound solid boulder bathtub, radius glass block shower with two walls covered in book matched full slabs of marble, and reclaimed wide board rustic white oak floors installed over hydronic radiant heat in the concrete floor slab. This bathroom also incorporates a great deal of salvage and reclaimed materials including the 1800's piano legs which were used to create the vanity, an antique cherry corner cabinet was built into the wainscot paneling, chestnut barn timbers were added for effect and also serve as a channel to deliver water supply to the shower via a rain shower head and to the tub via a Kohler laminar flow tub filler. The entire addition was built with 2x8 wall framing and has been filled with full cavity open cell spray foam. The frost walls and floor slab were insulated with 2" R-10 EPS to provide a complete thermal break from the exterior climate. Radiant heat was poured into the floor slab and wraps the lower 3rd of the tub which is below the floor in order to keep the thermal mass hot. Marvin Ultimate double hung windows were used throughout. Another unusual detail is the Corten ceiling panels that were applied to the vaulted ceiling. Each Corten corrugated steel panel was propped up in a field and sprayed with a 50/50 solution of vinegar and hydrogen peroxide for approx. 4 weeks to accelerate the rust process until the desired effect was achieved. Then panels were then cleaned and coated with 4 coats of matte finish polyurethane to seal the finished product. The results are stunning and look incredible next to a hand made metal and blown glass chandelier.
