Boxleaf Design, Inc.Situated in old Palo Alto, CA, this historic 1905 Craftsman style home now has a stunning landscape to match its custom hand-crafted interior. Our firm had a blank slate with the landscape, and carved out a number of spaces that this young and vibrant family could use for gathering, entertaining, dining, gardening and general relaxation. Mature screen planting, colorful perennials, citrus trees, ornamental grasses, and lots of depth and texture are found throughout the many planting beds. In effort to conserve water, the main open spaces were covered with a foot friendly, decorative gravel. Giving the family a great space for large gatherings, all while saving water.
Cabana HomeHigh beamed ceilings in the family room is punctuated by a air of custom wrought iron chandeliers and drapery rods. A pair of Barbara Barry club chairs flank an imported Italian table with inlaid wood. A pair of Sherrill Dining side chairs are upholstered in orange suede guard the entrance to the wine room.

This indoor swimming pool and hot tub in Wilmette, IL measures 14'4" x 39'6", and is 3'6" to 8'0" deep. The spa is 6'0" x 9'0". Indiana Limestone Coping sets off the Ivory-colored exposed aggregate pool finish, and the beige colored ceramic tile on the hot tub dam wall and perimeter. Garden StoriesA mid-century home sits behind this naturalistic planting design framed by a horizontal, contemporary-style fence. The lines of the fence are the perfect foil to the wispy brushstrokes of feather grass. This planting design was inspired by wind-swept hills, and foothill Manzanita. The substantial built in benches at the rear of the garden offers a wonderful space for relaxing and entertaining with dappled shade from the overhead pergola and plants in summer and warmth of the fire pit on colder nights.
