Rain Garden Nursery LandscapeMakeoverDesignStaging
Scott Buley HTT&T, High Tech Turf & Trees. It's not everyday that we're asked to save a home from a Dragon. This home had a Serpentining Weeping Giant Sequoia "climbing" over it. And our client Loved this tree, as we grew too as well. To "share" their limited outdoor space with it, we designed and built a Garden Pergola beneath it. To save it's wet feet, we re-built the drainage system it stood in, naturalizing the site with our NaturPavR(sm) Xeripaver pervious pavers. Here we retained just enough moisture in "Puff's" new Rain Garden, by creating a new stream bed for it to inhabit. Everyone co-existed happily ever after in their shared Outdoor Entertainment area. All of this made for a very happy fairy-tale ending.

Pacific Garden Design
Tucked away in a small subdivision, these homeowners have taken their builder-grade backyard and transformed it into a Japanese-inspired oasis. After the initial landscape design and construction by Pacific Garden Design, the homeowners have continued to craft an elegantly evolving landscape. A multi-level deck provides entertaining space as it steps down to the yard. A dry water feature anchors the corner of the yard, while a series of stone benches provide spots for quiet contemplation. The thriving garden area takes advantage of the southern exposure along one side of the yard and offers an opportunity for garden whimsy. Gravel pathways connect the space to the front yard and the natural area behind the property.

A lush rooftop garden overlooking Boston’s historic Back Bay offers stunning views of the Prudential and John Hancock Tower. The character of the site is amplified by the dramatic contrast between architecture and sky. Mature magnolias underplanted with hostas form a threshold into the historic brownstone. Weathered-wood planting beds spill with new hardy shrubs, perennials, grasses, and herbs; a paper birch and a wind-sculpted spruce lend dramatic texture, structure, and scale to the space. Rugosa rose, juniper, lilac, peony, iris, perovskia, artemisia, nepeta, heuchera, sedum, and ornamental grasses survive year round and paint a brilliant summer-long display. A collection of new and antique containers dot the rooftop, and a terrific orchid collection rests beneath the birch tree during summer months.
