This family kitchen, warm and functional, has everything to please. The white glossy kitchen cabinets bring brightness and freshness to the room and the light colored wood brings a nice warmth. Full height cabinets maximize the space, while creating an open and practical room. Everything is modernized through the stainless steel appliances and the quartz kitchen countertop. Finally, the island serves as a workspace, but also as a dining area for the whole family.

The more public spaces - foyer, den, formal dining room - are located at the front of the home. The Dining room is located off the Foyer and features a large frameless corner window, a custom full-height floating hutch with bookshelves, and perimeter recessed lighting. The dining table is a large honed concrete slab with blue steel legs, and the benches are custom-welded steel with upholstered cushions.

5" Rift and Quarter Sawn White Oak | This house is all concrete - and the homeowner made the most of it! We glued down Owens engineered 5" unfinished rift and quarter sawn white oak and finished it with a natural sealer and polyurethane. Congratulations to DFS Construction for their great work on this massive project!

While the shape and layout of the kitchen were maintained, changes were made to create a more open and functional space. The kitchen needed to better support serious cooking, as the homeowner studied French cuisine, and be more suitable for entertaining. Retail lighting and porcelain sockets with piano lights create a sophisticated modern lighting strategy. Concrete countertops and rubber flooring add to the industrial appeal of the space.

The clients wanted a modern, spacious feel with added lighting, good ventilation within a lean budget. We applied a continuous use of contrasts in materials and linear geometry is what makes this space feeling clean, balanced, and open.

Manufacturer of custom recycled glass counter tops and landscape glass aggregate. The countertops are individually handcrafted and customized, using 100% recycled glass and diverting tons of glass from our landfills. The epoxy used is Low VOC (volatile organic compounds) and emits no off gassing. The newest product base is a high density, UV protected concrete. We now have indoor and outdoor options.
