Stucco is a popular building material that is mainly used in residential exterior siding. It is a combination of sand, Portland cement, limestone and sometimes water. Plaster can be applied to wood, block and concrete. When applying stucco to wood framing, it is usually attached to a wire lath that is attached to the structural framing. Wood framing must be protected by a water resistant moisture barrier such as, asphalt building paper or different types of building wraps before the wire lath and stucco are applied. New stucco should cure for thirty days before prime and paint are applied. A common problem found in stucco due to the trapped moisture that migrates towards the stucco surface, it sometimes carries mineral deposits within it. This can cause a discoloration and sometimes adhesion problems. New stucco can sometimes develop cracks during the curing process. As water is eliminated and the stucco hardens, hairline cracks tend to occur. Once you apply the primer and paint with a paint roller it typically fills the narrow cracks. The roller helps push the paint into the cracks. Larger stucco cracks require a stucco patch filler to bridge the gap. When painting new you must include a primer coat and one or two finishing coats. All paints and primers should be used for exterior surfaces.

This eclectic living room was inspired by many styles modern farmhouse, rustic, transitional and eclectic put together. I faux finished a grey cement style accent wall leaving the other walls a cream color. I also refinished both wood tables from their old orange honey stained beginnings to now a rustic and vintage flare. This warm and inviting living room displays character, comfort and a rustic elegance to it's eclectic nature.

Located on the dramatic North Cornwall coast and within a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), the clients for this remarkable contemporary family home shared our genuine passion for sustainability, the environment and ecology. One of the first Hempcrete block buildings in Cornwall, the dwelling’s unique approach to sustainability employs the latest technologies and philosophies whilst utilising traditional building methods and techniques. Wherever practicable the building has been designed to be ‘cement-free’ and environmentally considerate, with the overriding ambition to have the capacity to be ‘off-grid’. Wood-fibre boarding was used for the internal walls along with eco-cork insulation and render boards. Lime render and plaster throughout complete the finish. Externally, there are concrete-free substrates to all external landscaping and a natural pool surrounded by planting of native species aids the diverse ecology and environment throughout the site. This house had a very old kitchen cabinets, old appliances, was very small with walls that was separating the kitchen and dining room and kitchen and laundry room. the sub floor was not even and was sinking down in the laundry room area from bad wood rough and termite. we opened up the 2 walls from the dining room all the way to the back wall with supporting posts and beams, we fixed and raised the damaged floor area by adding new cripple wall drilled to existing foundation and we cut and sistered the floor joists. we removed the old plaster walls and ceilings, frame out new exterior door and kitchen window. adding replumbing and rewiring the kitchen and the entire house and upgrading the panel box to 200 amp. relocating the water heater and installing new tankless water heater outside. adding new insulation on exterior walls, waterproof membrane and adding new wood siding to the exterior wall in the kitchen area. we covered the floor joists with plywood, cover the plywood with waterproof membrane, adding cement board on top and applying red guard waterproof membrane to the cement board, then we installed new tiles. we covered all walls and ceiling with drywall and paint, then we installed the kitchen cabinets, counter top, backsplash tile, appliances and light fixtures.
