The client wanted a storage closet for cleaning supplies with the option to remove shelves if she decided to make it a broom closet.

When you have a party, where does everyone end up? The kitchen, of course! This Long Island family wanted a new kitchen that was big enough to hold their growing family, but cozy enough for their party-goers to feel comfortable. A Direct provided them with just that. With their great taste in GE Cafe series appliances, this traditional kitchen has been brought to life. The beautiful design details makes this kitchen one for the books.

The layout of this mudroom is long and narrow and divided in half by a doorway. A locker system with 5 individual cubbies, open shelving and drawers holds the families immediate outdoor wear accessories. The cabinets are finished in white melamine and include corner radius shelving, chrome hardware, square raised panel door fronts and large continuous crown molding. The opposite wall has the washer and dryer with cabinets for laundry essentials. There is also a closet for long hang items and mop/broom storage. for this lovely home we designed a more traditional aesthetic. The clients wanted a full house remodel as you see here. Notably, the laundry room required some special attention; the room need to wear several hats. It was laundry room, mudroom, potting shed, broom closet, and common entrance for neighbors and family - all in one! Pinot Gallery Photography by Allison Lord This turn of the century Tudor home was amazing in every way except for the kitchen. It had dated 1970's green stained cabinets and a layout that was awkward and unappealing. The narrow island held the cooktop and there was little prep room. The island also held a compact 24" undercounter oven that was the only oven in the kitchen. This kitchen did not work well for this family of four that loves to entertain guests. The homeowners, after looking at several potential kitchen plans, decided removing the dining room wall was the best option! It allowed for an additional 30" of space for the kitchen and would flood the kitchen with lots of natural light from the expanse of dining room windows. In the back hall staircase, we had room for another length of cabinets which now houses a broom closet and a microwave prep area. A recessed niche became the new home for food storage, with the refrigerator and two tall pantries with rollout shelving. The backs and sides of the island and peninsula have matching doorstyle wainscotting. Supporting the Black Pearl granite, we installed Mission style corbels. The dark autumn with ebony glaze, quartersawn oak cabinets match the homes decor very well. Th e kitchen is transitional in nature. It reflects the original home's charm with a modern feel.

Antique White with Beveled Faces, work bench and storage

This masterfully designed kitchen is fit for entertaining every type of gathering from dinner parties to cocktail receptions.
