There is contrast between the traditional furniture and the focal point of the floor which pops, draws attention. I would recover the sofas in cream colored soft fabric - suede. I would leave the curtains grey, and put down a large neutral area rug. The edges of the room would show the pattern of the floor. I would color the wall and add texture to it, but not too dark as the room will appear smaller. Add a picture and put a nice plant holder, large vase in the left corner of the room - an oriental-style vase. Or, a cream-stripe fabric on the sofas. You could go soft or bold in this room - depending on your taste.

Your choices don't flow well to me. The flooring in your photo is pretty (very dark...are you okay with it showing every footprint, smudge, and dust bunny? If so, that's fine). From all of your options there I would do white cabinets with the Himalaya White granite. But you said ignore the granite. :) I would go for the gray cabinets with white quartz everywhere in that case, but personally I'd worry about gray cabinets being very dated in a few years. Is there another quartz option that you could pair with the white cabinets that is light in color and maybe has some movement, like LG Bianco Drift?

Hi Shilpa, Scandinavian design is a beautiful and versatile design genre. A few things you need to keep in mind which is key to Scandinavian design is light and ventilation - so have large windows with no/ minimal grills. The warmth of the room comes from natural wood elements, hence if you do not have wooden flooring have some amount of distressed or old wood in the room in terms of side tables or wall hangings. Maintenance will be a key issue if you have all white walls and furniture , so remember to suit it more to the climatic conditions of where you are situated , so if in a city next to a busy dusty road, you might have to upkeep the room on a daily basis. Try to bring in some pop colour like coral or teal and of course invest in an original painting Hope this helps you Smitha

SF Firstly, what kind of spaces Are you designing- residential, commercial etc., Which city are you located and focusing to get the client's. Cities like Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai have adequate workforce/labor for interior work from carpentry to false ceiling to plumbing and painting. Select a sub contractor whom is well versed with materials first., I.e hardware's required for execution. Drawings are easy but finishing is the main criteria. What materials you want to go, which brands in you want to have? Plywood, laminites, Type of glass, Tiles, Light fitting s etc. Then you can fix the Deal!!
