This is a dilemma indeed! Posts in the middle of rooms are always a little difficult. It would be helpful to have pictures of all four walls to suggest the best layout. From what I can understand of your dilemma, I've attached a layout that may work based on your description. It features a defined entry. So when you walk through the front door, you will see a console table with a couple of ottomans stashed beneath. They can come in handy for extra seating. In front of the console are two arm chairs, followed by a modular sectional - they make up your main seating area. To the right of the kitchen door is a TV console. Behind the sofa is a bookcase and to the right is a round table with a couple of chairs for games, paper work or what have you. You don't mention any windows. Is this the case? If so, we'll want to make sure you've got adequate lighting and colors that will work with the limited light. Hope this helps!

Dear Mr. Maverick, Hope you are doing great. Seeing at your post its very clear that you are a passionate person and taking your designing process seriously. Also you are accepting that you are not a designer yourself which is a good gesture against those clients who think themselves superior when it comes to design choices but knows nothing in real. I agree with above replies to share some information about your house starting with the floor plans as without these no one would be able to help you in any way. Also you need to understand that designing is a subjective and time consuming process and doesn't happen in an instant. If its just about getting ideas then you can find millions on google search. But being on Houzz platform is a great thing as its full of many talented professionals contributing to the solutions best way possible. While am still going through the various probabilities of what could be, my idea of the 2 part multipurpose living room would be a planted vertical wall, along a cream/beige stone wall 3D panel to compliment and contrast with bright furniture, grey small sofa with pastel or bold yellow, and accent colors like green and blue in gem tones...carpet/rug, sofa throw pillows, side table...Maybe, a bright yellow Lounge Chair and finish with floor lamps and Lighting to accentuate the same. That said, I do prefer that material used is Eco Friendly as much as possible. The 2nd part of the living room would be eclectic design....neutral small sofa, cream 3D Panel...maybe a turquoise rug. In short, a small boho living space. In terms of budget...While, I do have an idea of the market, I'll like to hear you out. Yes, am open to hiring from outside my locality.
