Comments (35)I like this tile as well. Very sleek and mod looking. I would consider running it vertically instead of the picture horizontal pattern. It might give the illusion of more height in the shower surround. The color is great. If you are worried about it being "too much," you could always see if they have the same tile in a different shade and mix the two or doing one wall in a contrasting (lighter) color. I personally like it as long as you have good lighting....See Moreneed help to select curtains and carpet colour
Comments (50)There is contrast between the traditional furniture and the focal point of the floor which pops, draws attention. I would recover the sofas in cream colored soft fabric - suede. I would leave the curtains grey, and put down a large neutral area rug. The edges of the room would show the pattern of the floor. I would color the wall and add texture to it, but not too dark as the room will appear smaller. Add a picture and put a nice plant holder, large vase in the left corner of the room - an oriental-style vase. Or, a cream-stripe fabric on the sofas. You could go soft or bold in this room - depending on your taste....See MoreRepainting my room!
Comments (12)I am not sure how deep and bright the two colors are that you each have selected but I might suggest that you pick a green and blue that are soft rather then intense colors. My favorite paints are ones that are made by Restoration Hardware. Of course you can get any paint company to help you achieve very similar colors. Look up Restoration Hardware and see if there are greens and blues that you each like. Most of their colors work with each other. Comments (23)What a beautiful house, Shahbaaz! I live in a similar house - a 150-year-old colonial bungalow in Kumaon. You have already received lots of excellent advice from better-qualified people, so all I would say is, keep its age and heritage character the central theme. The white tiles do clash, I am afraid ... flooring with terracotta tiles would echo the roof and look lovely. The columns and the arches over the doors and windows are amazing. But I'd say, leave it all chuna-painted - there's a beauty and softness to it. Don't let the painters add too much neel (indigo) in the limewash -- in the hills where I live, they put far too much if I don't watch out and the result is a harsh white. Natural lime has a softer, creamy look....See Moreakpatty
