Repainting my room!

So, my sister and I share a room. We're getting it repainted. Right now, we have four chocolate-white walls and one yellow.
The furniture we have is mostly wooden. Dark brown beds, dark brown cupboards and two dressers and a computer table of the same lightish brown colour. I've uploaded images (they're images of the room made on The Sims, I know).
My sister wants a green shade (something like this: http://www.warlordgames.com/us-store/media/catalog/product/cache/3/image/800x634/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/u/s/us_dark_green_893_95_.jpg), while I want a dark blue (something like this: http://www.housebeautiful.com/cm/housebeautiful/images/bY/2-paint-darkroyalblue-0108-xlg.jpg).
So we thought of doing both. One green wall, and one blue. I've again attached images.
What do you guys think? Will it look good? Or will it turn out a disaster?

Comments (13)Hi Suneet, I feel there are a couple of things you could do. -You can start with pulling the furniture closer to the carpet. -Buy a couple of cushions for the maroon sofa. Bottle green or olive green would go well. -If you don't have a centre/coffee table, I recommend you buy one. -Side tables with table lamps will make space appear quite cosy and warm. The above-mentioned things would help you define the seating area. If your budget allows, go ahead and paint the walls to a mildly darker tone. Hope this helps. Comments (11)Manisha. pls do not remove any of the handmade beautiful patterns both on the main house as well as the boundary wall. They are the most interesting bits. In fact if you still have the contact detail of the mason who made this I would be glad to employ him! PRO12 years agoI found some interesting examples of very bright spaces with two colors. You can do it......!
Look on line for examples that work and then do your design.

PRO12 years agoWhy not try to find some fabrics you like and then take your color palette from there? You can use the fabric to make some pillows, a bed skirts for each of your beds and simple drapery panels on the windows. Add some solid and do color blocking on the drapery. Keep the rest of the bedding neutral. If you like color go for it - it's only paint and can be changed back if you hate it. Here are a few examples of blue and green fabrics you might find fun.
