I think the yellow and grey might bring out the gold-ish-ness of the couch.. I'd try to go with more blue colors.. Maybe some navy pillows and a rug with the blue in it as well. The curtains, that ying-yang rug, and the lilac rug just gotta go.. They're dwarfing all the sophistication this room will be able to have with that tile floor and those big beautiful windows. I love the dining room chairs!

The answer is relative to your tastes. Try taking a sample of your paint with you while shopping, and see what you think: it sounds as though your room could handle some colour in the mid range to balance the high contrasts that are there already.

I think your inclination toward rustic and distressed pieces is the right way to go. Consider a movable coffee table - I see 2 recliners that may necessitate some table shifting?- an area rug large enough to incorporate all the seating, rather than just a hearth rug, and enclosed storage for your electronics. Third, sofa set could be accented with cobalt blue, emerald green, fuchsia pink, ivory whites, mint etc. to create a sophisticated yet relaxing ambience. Fourth, cushions could be contrasted with colors same as the wall. Graphical and geometric patterns are recommended. Fifth, being most important, upgrade your lighting from led bulbs to 20W led tubelights. They will cover a larger area.
