Suggest curtain and sofa color for this living room.

For some reason we found this yellow color appealing and went with this color for one of the walls of the living room. but now we are confused as to what color/type to choose for curtain and sofa so that living room looks more inviting and pleasant. Need your valuble suggestions here.
Also suggest any other design ideas which I could plan to make the room look better.

Hello Praveena,
What I would suggest you is to go for white/off white colour curtains with the windows painted white including the grills.. secondly going for grey or ivory or brown leather sofa.. also try to add green plants at the corner.. it shall accentuate the whole space. Also add a collage of photo frames with black border. This shall add more drama to the space. Refer the following images for clear picture.

You can opt for Ivory color, curtains you can have Blinds instead,

since kids are around and to avoid any dirt, any suggestion of little darker shade ? how about light grey sofa with yellow pillows? or turquoise color sofa with yellow pillows ?

I would do gray walls and just make sure it has the same undertone as the tile I often paint the ceiling the same as the walls if going with a light color or if a little darker for walls I cut wall color 50% for the ceiling. I have a gray and mostly white LR and I have walls a color called Vancouver Day from C2 I then add color for different times of the year with pillows and a few accessories The wall behind the sofas I just painted in a purple from one of the pieces of art and I love it.

I would suggest u to go with white sheer and light grey curtains only. If u want want to play with bright colours then it is safest if u add them in form of accessories or decors, reason one being the space is small n it’ll look more crowded then. It’s better if u avoid orange n yellow in this bedroom at least. If u can give a better picture of the accent wall colour here it would be better. Then u could go with a darker shade of it to form the colour scheme. White+Grey+Purplish brown. That’s it.

I recommend removable wallpaper. You could also create a tightly packed gallery wall or even utilize tapestry and/or wide-hung curtains. The vibrant paint colors can't quite be muted in this space, so I would be looking toward wall coverings if the paint can't be changed.

If you are planning on changing the sofas, you could opt for a navy blue sofa with a lighter shade of blue for curtains.

This colour of blue will perfectly compliment your yellow wall.

I'd choose a white background curtain with a delicate black/dark grey print... Floral... Abstract.... whatever with a part of the print in a colour similar to the sofa colour.

Hello there,

You have chosen a beautiful shade of yellow for an accent wall. You could install some decor on that wall carrying white/ neutral accents.

Second, the curtains needs to be replaced with white/beige blinds or you could install white printed curtains from 2-3' above window sill till floor to create an illusion of space.

Third, sofa set could be accented with cobalt blue, emerald green, fuchsia pink, ivory whites, mint etc. to create a sophisticated yet relaxing ambience.

Fourth, cushions could be contrasted with colors same as the wall. Graphical and geometric patterns are recommended.

Fifth, being most important, upgrade your lighting from led bulbs to 20W led tubelights. They will cover a larger area. As of now, even the colors are light, the room appears stuffy and dimly lit due to insufficient lighting.

Instead of curtains,blinds would give an elegant and neater look as it will be difficult to maintain the look of the curtain behind the sofa
