Her are maps used as window treatments...... I also saw another map VALANCE for a window a while back where just a portion of a map was used to create the valance. The map was cut the width of the window plus a few inches extra for each side return. The top of the map was stapled around the perimeter of a board cut to the window width. The board was attached to the top of the window with "L" brackets. Hemp rope was hot glued to the top to hide the staples and it added a nautical touch. The lower edges of the map were cute in an irregular shape following the lines of continents .... Have I totally confused you? Anyway, it was very creative and attractive.

Also you are accepting that you are not a designer yourself which is a good gesture against those clients who think themselves superior when it comes to design choices but knows nothing in real. I agree with above replies to share some information about your house starting with the floor plans as without these no one would be able to help you in any way. Also you need to understand that designing is a subjective and time consuming process and doesn't happen in an instant. If its just about getting ideas then you can find millions on google search. I feel partitions are not needed. You already have too much for the space. Adding a partition will shrink the space further. The simplistic solution, you do not wish to discard any furniture would be to paint all the walls in lighter pastles. And use some wall painting frames to highlight certain walls.
