need help... please advice

This is my house i am going to contruct. As you can see from the drawing, the entrance to the house is little narrow, roughly 2 metres. Is there any ideas to highlight the entrance to the house or any other suggestions? Also is the Vastu of the is ok??

Comments (33)This arrangement works much better, but some adjustments are needed to make it work. First, the fireplace grouping needs to be tightened. It crowds the dining area and you need a passageway behind the couch. Turn the rug lengthwise, parallel to the fireplace. Pull the large couch about 2 1/2 feet closer to the fireplace, and place the two chairs and loveseat on the ends of the rug, and pull them closer together. This will give you a more intimate conversation area, and not impose on the other areas of the room. Remove that floor lamp from behind the couch. If you need the light in that area, put it by the fireplace. Also, the stereo system on the mantel needs to find another home. Maybe it can go IN the fireplace instead. At the other end of the room, I think the arrangement would look better if the seating were rotated 90 degrees. Keep the rug and coffee table in its current configuration, place the sofa either facing the window or with its back to the window, and put the two chairs opposite it. Finally, the dining area. Now that you've moved the big leather chairs, you should have enough room. Your rug is too small. It should be big enough to give you at least a 2 ft. border all the way around when the chairs are pushed in. And it's a really beautiful table; please uncover it. Comments (66)OK... but the wire wont be lower as it is fixed now. The wire in the pics below is the wall facing each other. They were leveled on equal height but the beam on one wall makes it seem a little above. But i think you guys are absolutely right that up and down lights wont look good there. Comments (5)Hey Amit, Since the Living Room is almost like Grand Central Station, (Or Dadar, if you look closer home) it is necessary to optimize the foot traffic to avoid problems. It would be ideal to create the living area near the window and dining area near all the doors. A window seat or a bench could go along way to increase seating space. One thing you need to look for in your designer or furniture for this space is to find multipurpose smart furniture. It will help you bring about the maximum space utilization. I hope this helps. 6 years agoThis is the front design given by builder, but I need better design. The frontage is 28 feet, the 4 wheeler parking gate is 12 feet wide as per requirement.

6 years agoThis is the changes i made according to ur suggestions. Removed balcony and added a bow window for drawing room. One bedroom on the right gets a attached balcony. Work area or utility area can be extended upto 60 cm to the right which will be open to air and metal grill works may b done. I also extended some space near staircase to act as shoerack.
Also for the other bedroom and kitchen , space extended outward for builtin cupboard .
I cannot push back the toilet near the kitchen because of the space constrains. My only issue that fiddles my mind is that , is there a problem if kitchen door is close to toilet door?? If so i can attach the toilet to the bedroom nearby. Only issue will be that if incase any guest need to use the toilet, then they have to go through the bedroom.
