HELP! Need advice for decorating small living room

Hi All,

I have a small living room 15 feet by 11 feet in my apartment. Apparently doors of all the other rooms open into this space. Please suggest decorating ideas and furniture layout for this space..your urgent and expert advice is desperately needed..thanks in advance!

You've got a great space here, and there's so much you can do with it! Do you know what style you're looking to achieve? If you've already got a red and white colour scheme going in your kitchen, you can always opt for this in the living room. Sometimes grey can make the room look a little dark, so it's always worth investing in a white base, and build from there. Maybe change the colour of the curtains to something a little lighter and richer?

I personally would like to see you start your art collection. It may take a while but you will get there. And the hunt is tons of fun. Do not worry, about who made it, only that it is original or a signed numbered print of maybe 200 and that you love it. sources, etsy and Saatchiart. oodles and it changes all the time. often $100 or less. both under $60 etsy a few of the myriad ways to make your own Butterflies or some other small collectible natural or otherwise One large on subject matter, then small ones regarding that topic framed important things in your life magazines, album covers important newsprint that means something to you Bandanas, or how about the decorations off your favorite clothes before they go out. plates, or mugs, judgin by your couch, these are not it, but there are some really cool modern ones too large copies of musical scores. hope it helps

Hi Raghvendra! What I understand is that you require ideas for cushions and also for the wall. First of all, decide on the theme which you are going for.....modern...European....etc. Your furniture looks a mix of the two. As such a full view of the room would help one to decide on the best combination. Also the furniture material esp sofa will decide the texture of the walls and the cloth you will use for cushions. Also the size of cushion will matter. Personal choice of the color is best. I always go for rustic looks which matches most & mingles with all set ups. It give a look of luxury too. hI Amit,

the small corner with many doors around can become a dining table adjoining wall with it being perpendicular to the wall and the two walls opposite with opening in the centre can be used for putting 2 sofas opposite to each other with the corner lit with hanging light will d efinitely make it more livable. and many other aspects like ceiling and lighting along with accessories like painting and sculptures will also be crucial . so if you can share some dimensions of the room, i would provide you with the designs.

Hey Amit,

Since the Living Room is almost like Grand Central Station, (Or Dadar, if you look closer home) it is necessary to optimize the foot traffic to avoid problems.

It would be ideal to create the living area near the window and dining area near all the doors.

A window seat or a bench could go along way to increase seating space.

One thing you need to look for in your designer or furniture for this space is to find multipurpose smart furniture. It will help you bring about the maximum space utilization.
