WHAT IS MISSING IN THIS DESIGN? GIVE ME SUGEESIONS.
Comments (27)With your original pictures - I agree with larger rug. But I don't agree with comments suggesting the rooms are monochromatic. They are lively indeed. I think you are just missing some accessories! Art work on the empty walls - even just a single large dramatic piece is in order. In the bedroom on the white wall, in the living space behind the sofa, in the greenish bedroom behind the two beds. Those are instant areas where you can improve. But I think your spaces are lovely and well put together. Also I agree with the comment about table lamps - some of those would really add something, and your coffee table looks so empty - maybe just one gorgeous bowl, or stack some books. These rooms are 90% done in my opinions, just need a few finishing touches. Some of my rooms come out like this because the clients are not willing to pay for those last few finish items or feel they can do that part themselves......See Moresimple bedroom
Comments (7)The room has exquisite bones: the windows, flooring and decorative crown molding. If simplicity is what you want but with a bit more personal taste, I suggest the following: 1) paint the walls white that has a soft, warm undertone such as Benjamin and Moore's moonlight white or Dove. (Or try any good paint store for help on picking the right white color.) Paint the molding a stark white with an egg shell or gloss finish. 2) keep the bed covering as is. I love the warm colors and mixed patterns. If you do want more comfort, yes add a thicker mattress. Can you get a fabric similar for the table top? Or just remove the fabric from the table top, painting or stenciling it with a similar pattern. (see #5 below for where to look for stencils.) 3) Move the table to the head of the bed, add a modern lamp and lots of books or other meaningful, personal items. 4) Add a comfy chair or as suggested above, pile lush floor pillows where the table is, under the window. Use complementing or solid color fabric on the floor pillows or chair. Add a small table with more lighting. (See my most popular post on Floor Pillows. Towards the end you will see examples of suitable floor pillows. Or just do a search here on Houzz and the internet.) 5) Make a dramatic statement above the bed with a very large painting. Select with care based upon your personal taste: abstract, minimal but with a hint or some of the colors found in the bedding fabric. It doesn't have to be centered, a little off centered will do since there appears to already be something on the wall above the bed. Do add a soft art lamp above the painting. (If you don't have money for the painting, purchase a very large canvas, take your time and create it yourself (collage it, play around with paint on paper before adding it to your canvas, stencil it, etc.--but have fun and make it personal) Here's a great place for getting a wide range of designs for stenciling: Cutting Edge Stencils. Note you don't have to take the design all the way to the edge of the canvas! 6) Add a small (wool) flokati rug in front of the bed. Get the kind that comes from Greece, it has long-fibers and a plush pile. These rugs are to die for when it comes to comfort and texture--and they're inexpensive. Take a look and if you like it, be sure to get wool: Flokati Rug.Net. These ideas will give you lots of varying textures to get rid of the boredom; contrasting colors for depth and drama; play up the wonderful architectural elements already found in the room; personalize it with what you love; and still, keep it simple and beautiful. Use soft lighting. Good luck!...See MoreGuide about types of Berber carpet

Comments (14)Hi Anirudh, As budget is 40k, few options come to my mind without major changes to the entire setup you already have. Hope this would be of some help; The wooden linoleum flooring is not looking that great. you can think of removing it if that is an option. You can add a rug to the living room, synthetic rugs come is great variety and are inexpensive. You can go for a beige colored rug, plain or patterned. The first pic of your living room: Without replacing your Sofa changes you can make; 1. change the curtains. To create length and make room appear big and high up..Go for sheer curtains in white/off-white (something similar to the wall colour). Hang the curtain rod high up with width a little more than the window's (exact width of windows don't look so good). 2. Sofa Cushions: Replace the cushion covers with mix of - White(patterned-any small pattern would work) & Bright Blue color plain or patterned covers. Pic 2: Showcase: If you are not too emotional about that showcase, you should get rid of it. Instead hang Huge painting in neutral palette (nothing very bright) to cover it up. Any stretched Canvas paintings will cover up the showcase entirely. Those single picture frames should go away and so does the wall hangings. Pic 3: 1. BookCase: Buy/Diy a bookcase on top of the existing one...such that it touches the ceiling. You can completely get a new book case with wall to floor height if you please. Please don't crowd the bookcase, instead add a mix of books and some stopper or picture frame or decorative items. 2. TV Unit: The TV Unit is bulky and adds nothing to the room. Instead buy a simple one with drawers. 3. The wall clock is too small for the wall. Buy a bigger one so that it doesn't look too tiny with TV. You can go for a colored wall clock, like something in GREY or TEAL BLUE, provided your wall if lighter color. 3. Create a little interesting wall with paint or simple wallpaper. You can keep it white and give it some patterned finish with smokey grey (you see how marble wall looks something similar)..... And you can do without the curtain as well. Pic 4: 1. You can make this into a gallery wall and put photo frames along with paintings from high up to mid of the wall. mix and match and see what works here. When hanging colored photos keep some border while framing that looks better. 2. The single chair is occupying too much space. Instead you can replace it with a Blue/White Ottoman (cheaper option) or sleek wing chair (without arm rest) (a little expensive option). Actually you can buy two Ottoman and put the spare one on the wall end of TV unit and can alternatively use it as coffee table....See MoreE L
