I suggest that you try to find some plastic bins that are almost see-through and fit the space. That would be two for each of the lower shelves. You could pull out the bins to see what is inside and even label the outside. Or you could cut your plywood to fit the space and support it on the built-in shelves with bricks or purchased legs. The problem with this is that things in the back would be even more hidden than they are now. Then for the upper left you might be able to find a set of shelves that would fit. For the top right, I would put big soft things that you can grab and that won't hurt you when they hit you on the head! This might be extra bedding, towels, out-of-season clothes. For children's clothing I like to fold the whole outfit together, so that one doesn't have to hunt for the "matching" part. I think that your cosmetics could be in a small box that fits on top of other bins or clothing on shelves. Good luck. This will take some experimenting, but something will emerge.

Most wall art looks best when hung at eye level or slightly lower than eye level. Keep in mind how the art will be viewed most often (from a standing or sitting position). Also, consider where the picture is being hung. For children's rooms, hang kids art at the eye level of the child. When hanging art above furniture, have twice as much space above the art than below it. A general guideline to follow for framed artwork is 4 to 8 inches from the surface of the furniture to the bottom of the frame. For framed art prints, a good rule of thumb is to center the frame 60 inches off the floor. To do this, measure the height of the frame and divide by two. Then measure the space from the wire to the top of the frame and subtract this number from the first number. Now add 60 inches to this figure. This is the point to insert the hook. When your picture hangs from the hook it should hang approximately one-third from the top of the frame.

I intend creating an L shaped wardrobe. The length along the north side 5 ft 6" & length along east side is 6 ft. My closets will be 2 ft deep and 8 feet high. I thought I'd create a 3 ft x 3 ft corner closet space. This would create 2 wardrobe units on N and E side - on N side it would be a 2 ft 6" closet unit. On E side, it would create a 3 ft closet unit. Given how tiny the corner unit will be I think it may only allow for double hanging on 1 side and single hanging on the other. I dont think it can accomodate shelves. What i'd like to know 1. Has anyone created a 3ft x 3 ft corner space. Is it just hanging space or does it have shelves ? 2. How useful has it been to create such a tight corner closet ? What do you keep in there ? 3. Is 3 ft x 3 ft with 2ft hanging depth a bit too tight ? Any suggestions ?

I think the kitchen you posted is really cheerful, young and full of energy. Nice retro feeling. It's interesting to compare it with the one below that I just found on Houzz -- which I must admit is closer to what I would choose if I were going green and yellow. But then I'm neither young nor full of energy. I love that there are so many different ways to do things. (I have to admit that in the one below I don't think the blue/turqoise accents work too well.)
