What better place for two brothers, but their own private space under the stairs. We created their own hobbit hole, complete with miniature sofas and toys, and a cypher lock to keep out unwanted visitors. The chalk board panel on the door flips down so they can see who's requesting entry before opening the door. The chalkboard wall holds their artwork, secret messages and graffiti from playmates. There's even another door inside for a quick escape to another room!

Embracing small-space thinking, the clients skipped the ‘required’ double master sinks for a wide single vanity in luxurious walnut, with a new skylight above. The extra space is put to good use as a laundry room in the hall.
Floor: Doge mosaic, Artistic Tile.
Walls: Scenes in matte white, Mosa.
Plumbing: Hansgrohe Metris S in brushed nickel.
Light: Schoolhouse electric.
Vanity: Nameeks

Confined on all 4 sides, this elegant master suite addition nestles itself seamlessly among the existing house and exterior courtyard. The bedroom offers a panoramic view of the exterior oasis while the walk-in closet takes advantage of the high ceilings and allows light to filter in from above. The bathroom builds upon the asian theme found throughout the existing house. A careful balance was struck between allowing natural daylight to enter the space as well as protecting the beautiful artwork from direct light.
