In this smart home, the space under the basement stairs was brilliantly transformed into a cozy and safe space, where dreaming, reading and relaxing are allowed. Once you leave this magical place and go to the main level, you find a minimalist and elegant staircase system made with red oak handrails and treads and white-painted square balusters. Specialized Stair and Rail
The designers of this home brought us a real challenge; to build a unsupported curved stair that looks like stacked lumber. We believe this solid oak curved stair meets that challenge. LED lighting adds a modern touch to a rustic project. The widening effect at the bottom of the stair creates a welcoming impression. Our innovative design creates a look that floats on air.

Now, beautiful architctural built-in adds lots of deep storage! Looks like it was an original part of this historical home. Arched door panels reflect swirl design on side of staircase and add a subtle Moroccan element.
Banisters and rails painted espresso brown become more important and contrast with oyster gray walls and white trim. Who misses that window?!

The basement of this two-family home has a separate entrance from the outside, so the space beneath the stairs could be put to use for storage. Custom doors hide a coat closet and pull-out shoe racks, keeping the entry open but tidy. The new railings are modern and clean.
Paint: Ben Moore Cloud Cover 855.
