Clients' dreams come true with the new contemporary kitchen. Countertops are recycled glass by Vetrazzo "Mille Fiori". Horizontal quarter sawn oak cabinets along with stainless steel add to the contemporary, colorful vibe.

This spacious kitchen with beautiful views features a prefinished cherry flooring with a very dark stain. We custom made the white shaker cabinets and paired them with a rich brown quartz composite countertop. A slate blue glass subway tile adorns the backsplash. We fitted the kitchen with a stainless steel apron sink. The same white and brown color palette has been used for the island. Clean, contemporary white oak slab cabinets with a white Chroma Crystal White countertop. Cabinets are set off with sleek stainless steel handles. The appliances are also stainless steel. The diswasher is Bosch, the refridgerator is a Kenmore professional built-in, stainless steel. The hood is stainless and glass from Futuro, Venice model. The double oven is stainless steel from LG. The stainless wine cooler is Uline. the stainless steel built-in microwave is form GE. The irridescent glass back splash that sets off the floating bar cabinet and surrounds window is Vihara Irridescent 1 x 4 glass in Puka. Perfect for entertaining. The floors are Italian ceramic planks that look like hardwood in a driftwood color. Simply gorgeous. Lighting is recessed and kept to a minimum to maintain the crisp clean look the client was striving for. this kitchen is in a large open loft. this white on white kitchen was created with white glass upper cabinets, white lacquer lower cabinets, and blizzard caesarstone counters. Stainless steel appliances and island cabinets add some contrast. a library ladder rail traverses the entire kitchen to enable access to the top level of cabinets giving the kitchen quite a bit of extra storage. in the center of the kitchen is a movable island on lockable casters. the counter of the island overhangs the cabinetry allowing two stools to be used, creating an eat-in kitchen.

The existing 70's styled kitchen needed a complete makeover. The original kitchen and family room wing included a rabbit warren of small rooms with an awkward angled family room separating the kitchen from the formal spaces. The new space plan required moving the angled wall two feet to widen the space for an island. The kitchen was relocated to what was the original family room enabling direct access to both the formal dining space and the new family room space. The large island is the heart of the redesigned kitchen, ample counter space flanks the island cooking station and the raised glass door cabinets provide a visually interesting separation of work space and dining room. The contemporized Arts and Crafts style developed for the space integrates seamlessly with the existing shingled home. TCA has had a lot of experience connecting smaller apartments together into a seamless whole, this this adventurous client requested something we'd never seen before. IN a newly constructed multi-residential development, in the East Village of NYC, TCA had the opportunity to meet a unique client's desire to combine two penthouse condos...with a helical slide. In this transformation, two identical 1-bedroom units, one atop the other, were combined into a duplex 2-bedroom home with the option to descend in the usual way on a new Italian-made "Rintal" stair, or more speedily, in a seated position, careening through the hew double-height atrium. The half-tube stainless steel slide starts on the top floor neat the office, and lands below near both the living and dining areas. The sculptural slide is housed in a newly created 18' tall double-height space, which includes custom designed glass railings. The image of the stainless steel curves in front of the oversized window to the city beyond, say nothing of the irrepressible glee of grown adults on the slide, is surprisingly poetic; with careful detail, the playground element is an unexpectedly elegant addition to the space. Upon completion, the owner enjoys not only the newly combined total of 2,400 square feet, but also a new game room, office, putting green on the terrace, and of course, the slide. TCA managed to creatively and successfully turn this now 2 story East Village duplex penthouse into a perfect place for both work and play.

This sixth floor penthouse overlooks the city lakes, the Uptown retail district and the city skyline beyond. Designed for a young professional, the space is shaped by distinguishing the private and public realms through sculptural spatial gestures. Upon entry, a curved wall of white marble dust plaster pulls one into the space and delineates the boundary of the private master suite. The master bedroom space is screened from the entry by a translucent glass wall layered with a perforated veil creating optical dynamics and movement. This functions to privatize the master suite, while still allowing light to filter through the space to the entry. Suspended cabinet elements of Australian Walnut float opposite the curved white wall and Walnut floors lead one into the living room and kitchen spaces. A custom perforated stainless steel shroud surrounds a spiral stair that leads to a roof deck and garden space above, creating a daylit lantern within the center of the space. The concept for the stair began with the metaphor of water as a connection to the chain of city lakes. An image of water was abstracted into a series of pixels that were translated into a series of varying perforations, creating a dynamic pattern cut out of curved stainless steel panels. The result creates a sensory exciting path of movement and light, allowing the user to move up and down through dramatic shadow patterns that change with the position of the sun, transforming the light within the space. The kitchen is composed of Cherry and translucent glass cabinets with stainless steel shelves and countertops creating a progressive, modern backdrop to the interior edge of the living space. The powder room draws light through translucent glass, nestled behind the kitchen. Lines of light within, and suspended from the ceiling extend through the space toward the glass perimeter, defining a graphic counterpoint to the natural light from the perimeter full height glass. Within the master suite a freestanding Burlington stone bathroom mass creates solidity and privacy while separating the bedroom area from the bath and dressing spaces. The curved wall creates a walk-in dressing space as a fine boutique within the suite. The suspended screen acts as art within the master bedroom while filtering the light from the full height windows which open to the city beyond. The guest suite and office is located behind the pale blue wall of the kitchen through a sliding translucent glass panel. Natural light reaches the interior spaces of the dressing room and bath over partial height walls and clerestory glass.
