These feature our high quality 30mm frame and door construction with a birch veneer interior, materials that will enable this kitchen to last many, many years. The handles are one that we actually have on a display in our showroom. A verdigris handle with an interesting pattern. On this project we have a couple of bespoke furniture features, the first of which is the custom oak shutter system for the counter top unit. The special unit uses a roller shutter that has lots of narrow oak slats that move seamlessly up and out of the way to reveal the toaster and two shelves. The second is the pull out shelves in two of the 900 base units. These use modern soft close runners that enable you to pull out the shelves and easily access everything stored on them. This removes the need of having to get very low to try and find that bowl right at the back that you don’t always use, a great feature we believe. The final great feature of this kitchen is the walk in larder, this uses a bespoke birch veneered plywood construction, and the lovely thing about this material is the beautiful layering you get on the edges of the ply. The outer doors of the larder were also made by us, they are solid oak and feature a tear drop opening on the front. Inside one of the doors we have created a bespoke spice rack. Inside of the larder you can see the plywood layered edges as well as the extra deep drawers. These have a sweeping profile with a hand-scoop at the front. All of these run on modern soft-close runners. Above the drawers you have three staggered shelves, all of which are deep and provide a huge amount of storage space.

We slid new boards through the holes in the brick alongside the existing joists in the second floor. Like this… For strength, we had to use lag bolts to secure the new balcony joists to the floor system of the second floor. The problem was to find the least intrusive way to get to those joists inside the second floor of the house. We would have to go inside the house and get to the floor joists from above or below. The ceiling of the room below the balcony was a beautiful finished wood ceiling that really could not be disturbed without causing permanent damage. So getting to the boards inside the second floor through the ceiling of the first floor wasn’t a good option. The solution was to go into the second floor from above, through the floor of the room and that opens to the balcony. So we moved all the furniture out of the room and pulled back the carpet. We cut out a large section of the plywood and exposed the boards. We were then able to lag bolt the new balcony floor joists to the existing second floor system. Kitchen Larder for food storage, food preparation and serving food. This freestanding kitchen larder is constructed in two sections. The top cupboard is divided from the bottom by a Diespeker & Co terrazzo kitchen worktop and the double doors open wide at 165° to reveal the terrazzo worktop and internal storage. It's construction is designed so that is has no bottom rail or central rail, therefore maximising the worktop area enabling the user to prepare and serve food within the larder. The bottom half incorporates traditional food storage materials to enable staple food to be kept for longer, focusing on terracotta and slate. One of the base drawers are lined with terracotta for vegetable storage and within the top drawer there is a smaller terracotta container for butter and a removable slate cheese board. The two middle drawers can be used to store tins and jars. The kitchen larder is painted in Farrow and Ball Red Earth in a modern emulsion paint. To contrast the warm toned paint, all five drawer boxes, drawer internals and shelves are produced from reclaimed birch plywood. All hardware is in a matte black finish and the handles are from Armac Martin which add a contemporary, industrial feel. The Diespeker & Co cement terrazzo kitchen worktop consists of multiple flecks of varying toned marble and quartz bringing all the colours and textures together.

It’s not surprising though, when they look this good. For this particular project we have used a combination of natural oak with a light lacquer on the two furniture runs. These feature our high quality 30mm frame and door construction with a birch veneer interior, materials that will enable this kitchen to last many, many years. The handles are one that we actually have on a display in our showroom. A verdigris handle with an interesting pattern. On this project we have a couple of bespoke furniture features, the first of which is the custom oak shutter system for the counter top unit. The special unit uses a roller shutter that has lots of narrow oak slats that move seamlessly up and out of the way to reveal the toaster and two shelves. The second is the pull out shelves in two of the 900 base units. These use modern soft close runners that enable you to pull out the shelves and easily access everything stored on them. This removes the need of having to get very low to try and find that bowl right at the back that you don’t always use, a great feature we believe. The final great feature of this kitchen is the walk in larder, this uses a bespoke birch veneered plywood construction, and the lovely thing about this material is the beautiful layering you get on the edges of the ply. The outer doors of the larder were also made by us, they are solid oak and feature a tear drop opening on the front. Inside one of the doors we have created a bespoke spice rack. Inside of the larder you can see the plywood layered edges as well as the extra deep drawers. These have a sweeping profile with a hand-scoop at the front. All of these run on modern soft-close runners. Above the drawers you have three staggered shelves, all of which are deep and provide a huge amount of storage space.
