This large living room setting sits above a custom grey/lavender silk and wool blend rug. Walls were paneled to a height and then a dark grey was carried above the paneling height. Pocket doors were put in to open the formal living room into the kitchen area, thus providing a sense of informality to this room. Symmetry was used to arrange flanking chairs and sofa. All upholstery goods were covered in linen over shades of creams and grays. Chartreuse and soft lavender were used as accent colors. A whitewashed sculptural console is placed behind the larger sofa in the space and invites to explore the room, past the entry foyer. A large reclaimed wood coffee table was used to anchor the room, while two burlap sculptural chairs are used as reading corners, with pivoting wall sconces.

This is a small beach cottage constructed in Indian shores. Because of site limitations, we build the home tall and maximized the ocean views. It's a great example of a well built moderately priced beach home where value and durability was a priority to the client. Cary John

This Indian Head Park, IL client had some very specific design ideas, resulting in a unique floor plan. Talora cherry cabinetry was chosen for this new design, which includes oodles of additional cabinetry and storage. The sink wall cabinets now run all the way to the right wall, an additional 9 feet. A table was built into the run, with generous seating for 4. Tucked under the table is the client’s cookbook collection, which had previously been stored in another room. The desk area was removed, making way for a beverage center, much more in keeping with this client’s lifestyle. A wine fridge was built in, and beautiful glass door cabinetry completes the updated look. To the left of the refrigerator 4 feet of pantry cabinets were added. They are 12” deep so that they do not intrude into the traffic flow. The new wall cabinet between the windows is a display piece, to better keep an open feeling and to give visual interest to this area. With her new kitchen, we were able to achieve everything on this client’s checklist: from the rich warm wood tones, the many feet of new storage, the built-in table, the eye-catching display pieces, and the personalized design.

“Traditional Elegance” That describes this Indian Head Park, IL, client’s home, and that is what she wanted from her kitchen remodel. Warm toned cherry Talora cabinets coordinate with her furnishings, and for the island: classic white. Six inches of stacked crown moldings, and the use of furniture style pieces through the kitchen’s perimeter enhance the formal feel of the kitchen. On the right of the sink, the furniture style cabinetry sits on the countertop, eliminating a dark, cramped corner. This look is repeated with a china cabinet styled piece on the left end of the wall, which features a lovely glass display cabinet. The focal point of the kitchen is the cook top and hood area. Accented with decorative ironwork, the traditional hood is an eye-catching feature. The island is also centered here, drawing the eye. To help the refrigerator blend in and not detract from the hood area, decorative panels were applied. The island makes a statement with its classic lines and symmetry. Bookcases adorn each end, and the countertop adds a chic curve detail. Ample seating is available for guests or helpers, and a prep sink, trash cabinet and built-in oven make the island functional as well as striking. Formal yet warm, this new kitchen coordinates with the home’s décor, and offers a beautiful and functional place to work and to entertain.
