Nestled into sloping topography, the design of this home allows privacy from the street while providing unique vistas throughout the house and to the surrounding hill country and downtown skyline. Layering rooms with each other as well as circulation galleries, insures seclusion while allowing stunning downtown views. The owners' goals of creating a home with a contemporary flow and finish while providing a warm setting for daily life was accomplished through mixing warm natural finishes such as stained wood with gray tones in concrete and local limestone. The home's program also hinged around using both passive and active green features. Sustainable elements include geothermal heating/cooling, rainwater harvesting, spray foam insulation, high efficiency glazing, recessing lower spaces into the hillside on the west side, and roof/overhang design to provide passive solar coverage of walls and windows. This is a three panel etched/sand carved mural between the kitchen and dining room. It was decided that the theme for the design would be the view the clients had of the European Coast from the cruise-ship they had traveled on.The stone counter on the dining room side seen here is used for serving, and the etched glass panels fold back to the kitchen prep area for ease of serving and clean-up. This beautiful steel screen completely brightens up the house, maximising the natural light. The once dark space now feels spacious and bright.

This stately Georgian home in West Newton Hill, Massachusetts was originally built in 1917 for John W. Weeks, a Boston financier who went on to become a U.S. Senator and U.S. Secretary of War. The home’s original architectural details include an elaborate 15-inch deep dentil soffit at the eaves, decorative leaded glass windows, custom marble windowsills, and a beautiful Monson slate roof. Although the owners loved the character of the original home, its formal layout did not suit the family’s lifestyle. The owners charged Meyer & Meyer with complete renovation of the home’s interior, including the design of two sympathetic additions. The first includes an office on the first floor with master bath above. The second and larger addition houses a family room, playroom, mudroom, and a three-car garage off of a new side entry. Non-functional for cooking and traveling within the footprint. No place available for sitting and enjoying the beautiful courtyard. We created a comfortable window seat and a breakfast bar. For keys and books, a custom console was designed and built to accommodate a very narrow depth space.

An entertainers kitchen connecting seamlessly with the external entertaining space. Concrete bench formed up on site to go with polished concrete floors. Window splashback helps with increasing the space with views to green landscape.

Timmerman Photography Sculpture by Mayme Kratz This is a home we initially built in 1995 and after it sold in 2014 we were commissioned to come back and remodel the interior of the home. We worked with internationally renowned architect Will Bruder on the initial design on the home. The goal of home was to build a modern hillside home which made the most of the vista upon which it sat. A few ways we were able to achieve this were the unique, floor-to-ceiling glass windows on the side of the property overlooking Scottsdale, a private courtyard off the master bedroom and bathroom, and a custom commissioned sculpture Mayme Kratz. Stonecreek's particular role in the project were to work alongside both the clients and the architect to make sure we were able to perfectly execute on the vision and design of the project. A very unique component of this house is how truly custom every feature is, all the way from the window systems and the bathtubs all the way down to the door handles and other features.
