The beauty of this room lies within the seamless juxtaposition of taking a completely traditional setting and imbuing it with unpredictability. The space echoes a sophisticated air while maintaining a coyness that is flirty. Inviting and welcoming, this room grabs you from the moment you walk in. The furniture includes a remarkable hand benched tufted sofa whose exquisite detail takes a commanding presence in the room, swivel chairs that flank the sofa allowing for flexible seating and ottomans that are easily moved to welcome more guests to the seating area. The masculine feel of the piece is softened with the touches like a tassel base lamp and the dashes of fuschia that add an incredible energy in the mainly neutral palette. A silk and wool rug add an incredible texture and play well against the deep espresso-stained rift and quartersawn white oak floors. This room is also incredibly accommodating for entertaining as it functions as a living room as well as a formal dining room, allowing guests to fluidly interact within the space. The high lacquer sculpted white table is centered within a beautiful bay window that overlooks the gardens and flanked by a pair of drapes that frame the view. The head chairs, swathed in a deep magenta, draw the eye to the grouping upon entering the room. A graceful chain chandelier hangs overhead illuminating the table. We crafted and fitted a series of cabinets, painted in a strong white tone, with glazed doors, a shelving unit with space for pull out boxes and also a dressing table space with solid ash worktop and Farrow and Ball Worsted painted drawers. Celebrity Interior Designer, Sherri Blum of Jack and Jill Interiors invited me to work with her on this project for the Make a Wish Foundation. Avery and Maddy wished for a Fairy Playroom. The fairies were painted to resemble the girls.

This property was completely gutted and redesigned into a single family townhouse. After completing the construction of the house I staged the furniture, lighting and decor. Staging is a new service that my design studio is now offering.

The only girl and the youngest of 3 my client's daughter wanted an updated bedroom that reflectied her favourite colours while Mom wanted the 'T' shaped room to feel more cohesive, a desk/reading area added and also didn't want to be overwhelmed by purple. Every Chilton console table is as unique as the tree from which it came. The tabletops are created with solid slabs of wood and showcase natural markings like knots, splits and disctinctive grain patterns. Any areas that require extra support are braced with functional and beautiful butterfly joints cut from a complementary wood. The wood top is paired with a natural steel base and shelf for a modern look that allows you to double up on storage and display.
