Comments (8)I think this looks like a great floor plan for what you are trying to do. Can an island be made in a kitchen 12x14. I can depending on your cabinet layout. Another solution is to incorporate a galley style from a peninsula configuration. Play with your cabinet layout. Base cabinets are 24" deep and a good walkway/clearance is 4'. You may want to consider a portable island that tucks under the countertop and can be pulled out and moved for additional prep space. The space is tight and you'll want good access to the traffic pattern from the hall, through the kitchen and into the dining area. Look at photos on houzz for U shaped small kitchens, and also portable islands. This will give you some great examples. Good luck....See More"need to design space under the staircase"
Comments (52)A houzz contributor, not too long ago, had made a wine rack out of 4'x4' wooden pallets, that are used in the US to move a load of goods with a fork-lift truck. Perhaps they have them in your country. He cut them in half so they were only two feet deep and stacked them up to high counter height. The wood would be a nice contrast with your concrete, might add a little warmth to the space. cascio.offsite@gmail.com...See Morebathroom
Comments (30)So for this to work, you need to go back through my question and make sure you have answered all of them the best you can. Is the electrical outlet for the counter space going to be right next to the switch, or is it that blurred spot that I see in the picture, . If your walls are Travertine marble, and there are not already electrical boxes in the exact location the lights go, we are going to have a hard time. If a 30" vanity goes in the corner, and you leave 5" on each side for the lights, that leaves a 20" mirror with one light jammed tight into the corner. So if we leave another inch on both sides, for clearance, that leaves 18" mirror. If you put a 3" frame around the mirror mirror, that only allows for 12" of actual mirror. I don't think that is enough mirror. Your bath is too narrow for a mirrored cabinet with built in lights unless it is recessed into th wall. The plumbing is probably in the way for that. Give me your thoughts on what I have just said, and then go back and answer all my questions. Then we can take it from there with a narrower down and focused search....See Morehelp! if you can design something else
Comments (8)You may want to consider modifying the plan by switching the kitchen with the guest bathroom thereby creating an open space living area. Here are a few examples of open kitchen: Best of luck with the design! Feel free to write us if you have any questions....See MoreOnePlan
