I like second plan! That space will fit the wardrobe perfectly. Take all colors from the art. The colors can be lighter or darker than the colors you see in art. Take "Venice" with you to paint store and they might be able to help you choose good colors. Idea: paint four walls the same and see if you like that. If you feel the room lacks interest, then paint the accent wall. Choose a pale green that harmonizes with "Venice" and a darker green accent. Yellow + red accent White + blue accent

Sharma - for a fellow, double hanging (stacked 40 - 44" areas each) accommodates most pants, shirts and blazers. There are systems with racks that lower and raise that make triple hanging for things out of season. Let's imagine four elevations - looking at the walls with the slanted ceilings and the end walls with window / doors. You have the most height between the doors - why not put double stacked hanging there for 6'? - Or do open shelves and drawers there the depths of the door itself. 16" - 20" is deep enough to store folded clothing - 14" will do a lot. On the long sides - draw a straight line across at the bottom of the slant - put stepping open shelves above and hanging underneath on the side without the window. Use double hanging for 2/3 of the length and full height hanging for the rest. On the large window side, consider a bench under the window, as a place to sit and put on shoes and socks. Perhaps on each side of the window, a chest of drawers. Let this be the side that gives the room personality - mirrors over the bureaus. Then, on the front wall with the charming window - consider shoe shelves underneath and on each side - these don't need to be more than 12" deep and they fit fine behind the hanging on the one wall - they just need about 16" distance between to access . . Look online at easyclosets.com - you may want to fabricate locally, but the online design tool should work well for you. Good Luck! - it is a lovely space. Use the higher shelves for heirlooms, costumes, seasonal and specialty gear.

Hello Durga, I hope you are doing well. Open wardrobes are a great option, however, you should also know that they can be a bit difficult to maintain, especially if you have pets or kids. One thing you can do without affecting the spaciousness of the room is install pretty curtains over the wardrobe, like so .. With the layout you have shown, you can also add a mini dressing as well + curtains. So the upmost shelf will have plants/ any other decor you want, whereas the back part can be used for storage. And when you aren't getting ready, you can just pull the curtains below the plants. As shown below (Click the link for pictures) So the first column would be hanger rods, possibly two rows, you can store other items/ clothing in the middle rack and the last column would be a Mirror - A full length or a medium sized one with table and some storage as shown below - However, do add a lighting option above the mirror for better illumnation, possible off-white rather than white, since it closely mimics daylight. A mirror will also make your room look bigger. The following is another option that you can easily implement with your current wardrobe layout You can also use some wallpaper or beautiful wrapping papers (Fabindia has some very beautiful ones) to give a lovely backdrop to your wardrobe! Hope this helps!

You can't increase the depth of cupboard by just adding plywood doors. You have to apply wood to sides of the cupboard also. Suppose you have a corner cupboard, then either on left or on right side you have to add a wooden plank vertically. In this case the final cupboard will be a few inches out from the wall. It will look a bit awkward.
