Need help with Kitchen Countertop- Cabinets-Hardwood floor Combo
Comments (13)Your choices don't flow well to me. The flooring in your photo is pretty (very dark...are you okay with it showing every footprint, smudge, and dust bunny? If so, that's fine). From all of your options there I would do white cabinets with the Himalaya White granite. But you said ignore the granite. :) I would go for the gray cabinets with white quartz everywhere in that case, but personally I'd worry about gray cabinets being very dated in a few years. Is there another quartz option that you could pair with the white cabinets that is light in color and maybe has some movement, like LG Bianco Drift?...See MoreIsland im small kitchen
Comments (9)too tiny kitchen for island. need to have accurate floor plan and water source for sink design along. foldable table might work better with counter wall in cabinets. island counter with ceiling hang chimneys if cook top here may save space OR simple counter table with utility below and just one wall touch kitchen platform so have a corner for other cabinet or fridge....See MoreNeed help with my kitchen -Mumbai apartment (11-1/2 ft X 7ft)
Comments (8)Please Read, 1) Following are the photos of my Mumbai apartment (10th floor) kitchen. Water heater and water purifier were already (haphazardly) installed by my contractor before I came to occupy the apartment. Answer : u can shift the purifier above sink , inside the cabinet which will be made by carpenter. 2) We now have to install cabinets above the counter. ( you can ) no problem. 3) I want to get the PNG gas pipes installed to replace the existing cylinders. Answer : This work you can do after carpentry work. 4) When I saw other homes it appears I not only need pipes but some ghastly looking meters/ valves etc. Answer : meter will be hidden inside above cabinet toward right side and pipes will be inside the hob side counter will transfer through the balcony wall to meter again. 1) The gas pipes will come from the wall next to the balcony doors. The sink is just next to this wall. Will it be possible to install the pipes and meters below the cooking counter or is that not practical? - - Don't know what are all the practical considerations. Safety, access to meter to take readings, location of the sink? ). everything is possible.. 2) If under the counter installation is not practical, where should the pipes and other boxes/meters go? as mentioned above.. 3) Is there any practical solution to clean up the wall with water purifier and heater? (please note the kitchen has a 6" thick beam on the top of the wall above the counter, also 6" think pillars one in the corner and the other large one near the microwave as shown. Additionally it has a protrusion on the ceiling, probably this houses the drain for the apartment above me. ( for above apartment kitchen nahani trap chamber it is... )...See MoreRenovation:: Do you really need to dump all old things?
Comments (12)Thanks for both of your responses CUBSpaces team and Shweta from Shades studio. It really gives a clarity about possible consequences. I am now doubt free about changing whole things in Bathroom as it will be interconnected. However will appreciate your opinion on few things: 1. Kitchen wall tiles: I have those from countertop height to roof(almost area of 6X15 feet) which are good and not hollow. I changed countertop 5 years back without any damage to these tiles. It might cost me another 10-15 K, but I feel the whole process and quantity of wasting old good tiles makes me little sad. 2. kitchen countertop: Made new around 5 years back. I don't expect to get it all intact. But large pieces can be cut and can be used as top for other freestanding structures like dishwasher, front load washer, heighten base cabinets, etc. 3. Plywood: I don't mind giving enough labour charges for old sheets recycle. I am planning to use doors, loose sheets(like kept on bed frame of settee frame.) or parts of big frames like settee. I am keen on reducing waste than to save money. You can see various DIY ideas by western people, who remove or sand laminates and re-paint furniture, or carefully remove hollow tiles and re-attach them. Some are also re-painting ceramic tiles. I am just asking myself: Are we creating more and more waste by use and throw approach every 10-15 years, just because we can afford it?...See Moreblandy514
