Manipalgoyal: I like your basic plan. It is well thought out....What does the top floor look like? The only thing that I would do differently from my very "Western" perspective would be to move the rear right bedroom upstairs and open up the back courtyard to the kitchen area. I would create a "great room / kitchen area with doors that open both to the front courtyard and to the back. This allows for good cross ventilation to help keep the house cool and comfortable on a hot day. It also provides easy access to the rear yard area without having to walk through a bedroom. Now all of the precious outdoor space is easy to use. The other element that I would introduce would be an atrium (or an opening in the floor) all the way up to the second floor with openable windows high up on the second floor to allow hot air to escape to the top of the house and out (since hot air rises) This is called the "chimney effect" and is another way to keep the house well ventilated. Of course this is how it has been done in hot climate countries for years, so you might be familiar with this technique already. Even if you don't change it, your floor plan is very nicely laid out. I would be happy to help you answer any additional questions that you might have. I do have a few questions for you: 1. Where is the laundry room? Is it in the storage space? This does seem a little narrow. How wide is it? You might want to work on how this space actually lays out. Is there a sink in this space too? 2. Why do you have such small openings to the outside from the drawing room and the rear bedrooms? Are they doors or windows? Wouldn't you wnat a door with an openable window with a screen adjacent so that you could have ventilation at night without having the door open? 3. How will you lay out the kitchen? Who is doing the cooking in your household? Is cooking a family event or is it done by a helper? You either want a bigger more open kitchen (Western design) or a more private kitchen (Asian design) Or a combination of both.......To me this is the most important part of the house where the family gathers and hangs out..... Hi Ravi. We would need more information about what you like (more pics in your idea books would help) to be specific, but I think the key to the palatial look is rich, varied texture and light reflections. Think of velvet cushions, silky curtains, a deep-pile rug (not shag) with a sheen. Where I am, in South Africa. Plascon has a wonderful suede paint which could bring deep, luxurious feeling to the walls. Some wallpapers can do the same thing. Be judicious with ornate features and such things as gilding, but by all means use them. I wouldn't go overboard on gilded furniture, but a single chair with restrained gilding might be lovely, or a gilded lamp. Cut-glass vases placed to catch the light from the windows. And I wouldn't choose more than one big ornate item. You might start with a traditional rug or a big tapestry. Not both. Another really important aspect is the effect of the lighting in the evening -- and I think you could certainly consider a smallish chandelier. But the starting point is to search Houzz and Google images for rooms that have the feeling you like, and then try to work out what you like about them. Then perhaps post another dilemma as you get to the point where you can tell us more but want advice on specific things.

Are you saying you will be layering a wooden false wall on top of the existing wall to hold the pocket door? If that is the case, you might want to treat the entire side of that new and existing wall ( including the area above doorway) as an accent wall using wood veneer strips. They look like actual pieces of wood plank which have adhesive backing, they come in a variety of finishes and colors...I like the old reclaimed wood look. A diagonal pattern would add extra visual interest, but would be more intense to cut and install. That will camouflage the additional layer and create a beautiful accent wall.

Hi Option 1 As suggested by Cornerstone above. This way the TV will be visible from dining too Option 2 Move TV to the corner of the entrance wall, next to the window, placed at 45 degree angle. The L shaped sofa can then go to the diagonally opposite corner. The wall can be a see through book shelf/crockery shelf. This is better as the visitors have some inviting empty space as soon as they walk in instead of a sofa. Option 3 TV in current position, but instead of the TV being mounted on wall, perhaps have an open shelf (like below)
