Need help with ideas for re-modelling our Kitchen
Comments (3)@magspag Thanx for the advice. We wanted to save some cost by not replacing the floor tiles, as well as save by retaining the upper cabinet in its current grey shade. Guess we will go for all-black for the cabinets: both below and above the counter; and put in a new counter-top that contrasts--maybe, a light coloured granite or slate. Examples for this color-scheme are in the ideabook...See MoreNeed help with our living room please!!
Comments (33)This arrangement works much better, but some adjustments are needed to make it work. First, the fireplace grouping needs to be tightened. It crowds the dining area and you need a passageway behind the couch. Turn the rug lengthwise, parallel to the fireplace. Pull the large couch about 2 1/2 feet closer to the fireplace, and place the two chairs and loveseat on the ends of the rug, and pull them closer together. This will give you a more intimate conversation area, and not impose on the other areas of the room. Remove that floor lamp from behind the couch. If you need the light in that area, put it by the fireplace. Also, the stereo system on the mantel needs to find another home. Maybe it can go IN the fireplace instead. At the other end of the room, I think the arrangement would look better if the seating were rotated 90 degrees. Keep the rug and coffee table in its current configuration, place the sofa either facing the window or with its back to the window, and put the two chairs opposite it. Finally, the dining area. Now that you've moved the big leather chairs, you should have enough room. Your rug is too small. It should be big enough to give you at least a 2 ft. border all the way around when the chairs are pushed in. And it's a really beautiful table; please uncover it. I can't see what kind of lighting that area has. It really needs a pendant or chandelier hanging directly over the table....See MoreOur new house living room paint
Comments (3)Either go with a darker shade for your woodwork or a lighter shade for the woodwork than the wall colors. I would use either the same color for all rooms or at least within the same color family. Each room will look different if you paint them all the same anyway due to light, time, of day and your furnishings. I like to choose the very lightest shade on a particular color spectrum. In other word a white with a hint of color. The ceilings do with a soft white or an off white. If you plan to place the TV above the fireplace a darker color will look good as an accent on that wall. If you have a narrow room try a darker color on the smallest wall to balance the size of the room. If your rooms are large try a very dark brown or navy or maroon as an accent wall. Have fun painting. Remember, if you don't like it, it's just paint and paint is cheap....See MoreNeed help for my window and door sizes and designs
Comments (0)We have recently finished the two and a half storey structure of bungalow. In the ground floor, there are guest room, kitchen and living cum dining room with a space for upstairs. It is a duplex concept house. Also in the first floor we out master bed room, children's room, parent room, family lounge, study room and a pantry. From the first floor is the gazebo entry with front facing. All the rooms have attached baths and toilets except the study, pantry and family lounge. The second floor has laundry room, spa room and a big prayer room( ibadat khana). Please help to decide on the window and door style and sizes that looks beautiful in such structures. Thanks in advance..... My email I'd is njk_gtk@yahoo.com....See Morenicola Mehio
