Need help with ideas for re-modelling our Kitchen

Kitchen: We have brown non-skid ceramic tiles on the floor, have a black granite counter and the walls are painted a light mustard yellow. The Cabinets below the counter are in off-white with grey lines (Formica finish) whilst the ones above are a light-grey. The backsplash has white ceramic tiles-with grey lines on it.The Kitchen is well lit and airy, thanks to plenty of windows, is rectangular, with windows placed on three walls along with a door opening to the kitchen garden.
We were toying with the idea of redoing the kitchen by: going for black matte-finish painted drawers with brushed-steel handles below the counter; replacing the glossy-black counter with grey granite with black veins; retain the brown floor-tiles as they look good (and possibly would set off the proposed matte-black drawers beautifully). The walls would be repainted white. Our worry is that the proposed changes would rob the kitchen of warmth, and make the colors too bleak and disjointed. We are also unsure if we need to retain the grey color for the cabinets above the counter, to lend continuity to the proposed black colored drawers. Please help with suggestions, to bring the whole kitchen together.
