Would like to share a simple home styling tip: Always slip your carpet below the 2 front legs of the furniture around it. This helps to pull the room together. Your wall can be treated in multiple ways: It's a nice idea of having a floating shelf. This can also be combined with a collage of frames, small wall art, Some Letters, Arrows, etc. around it to fill the wall as seen below: Regarding the painting idea: Choose the subject as an abstract/geometrical, since this would match the style of your living room. And always hang the painting with its base at just 6-8" from the sofa backrest. (keeping them at an eye level). A) You can opt for a huge landscape framed painting, that would cover the wall. OR B) Have 2 similar vertical frames, hung side by side. Can also add a focus light above to highlight these paintings. Hi Anirudh, As budget is 40k, few options come to my mind without major changes to the entire setup you already have. Hope this would be of some help; The wooden linoleum flooring is not looking that great. you can think of removing it if that is an option. You can add a rug to the living room, synthetic rugs come is great variety and are inexpensive. You can go for a beige colored rug, plain or patterned. The first pic of your living room: Without replacing your Sofa changes you can make; 1. change the curtains. To create length and make room appear big and high up..Go for sheer curtains in white/off-white (something similar to the wall colour). Hang the curtain rod high up with width a little more than the window's (exact width of windows don't look so good). 2. Sofa Cushions: Replace the cushion covers with mix of - White(patterned-any small pattern would work) & Bright Blue color plain or patterned covers. Pic 2: Showcase: If you are not too emotional about that showcase, you should get rid of it. Instead hang Huge painting in neutral palette (nothing very bright) to cover it up. Any stretched Canvas paintings will cover up the showcase entirely. Those single picture frames should go away and so does the wall hangings. Pic 3: 1. BookCase: Buy/Diy a bookcase on top of the existing one...such that it touches the ceiling. You can completely get a new book case with wall to floor height if you please. Please don't crowd the bookcase, instead add a mix of books and some stopper or picture frame or decorative items. 2. TV Unit: The TV Unit is bulky and adds nothing to the room. When hanging colored photos keep some border while framing that looks better. 2. The single chair is occupying too much space. Instead you can replace it with a Blue/White Ottoman (cheaper option) or sleek wing chair (without arm rest) (a little expensive option). Actually you can buy two Ottoman and put the spare one on the wall end of TV unit and can alternatively use it as coffee table.

two basic issues your room floor is dull is that floor to floor carpet if yes then add a a smaller area rug under your table to get splash of colour, alternatively if you dont want to do that then add some colorful wallpaper behind the sofa. Where you have the table lamp add something taller like a modern floor lamp or a tall spread out palm plant. Take the table lamp and add to a side table if you have one. The second biggest issue is that you have a lovely modern sectional sofa and then you have paired it with a very traditional and very high coffee table that looks like it has marble inlay work done (cant make out clearly). This is not a good pairing. The coffee table is the right size but get something modern and a lot lower, a general guide to this would be one inch to 2 inches lower than the seating height of the sofa. As someone else mentioned an Ottoman that can serve as a coffee table in an alternate colour will also work. Paintings and wall art is something you can experiment with but unless you do something about the coffee table the room will continue to look odd in my opinion.
