Paint suggestions for a dated living room

Hello,
Please suggest how this living room could be uplifted!
The floating wooden box has been removed (as in the 3rd pic) but the rest stays the same. Thinking of removing the glass shelves too and making the floor wooden as well.
The same wooden look runs through 2 other bedrooms (bed and wardrobe).
Please *please* suggest wall colours and what can be done with this dated tv unit wall - without uprooting it.

Window wall you can match with your sofa colour,
Other wall you can keep as per your wish,but should light and cool colour choice.
T v unit you can take purple or some brighten colour,which should no light and not too dark,but like felt differ.

Hi,

I would suggest removing 2 of the units of the main cabinet below. The void between the full unit will add an extra dimension in the overall look and feel. Also, removing the moulding that runs across it should help. Since you plan for a wooden flooring complimenting it with white glossy finished shutters and a soft backdrop wallpaper could enhance the look. To complete the picture, you can think of investing on a large painting / wall planter in place of the uprooted wooden box. Hope you find any ideas useful. Thanks

OK... but the wire wont be lower as it is fixed now. The wire in the pics below is the wall facing each other. They were leveled on equal height but the beam on one wall makes it seem a little above. But i think you guys are absolutely right that up and down lights wont look good there. I think you are right about down lights lessismoore. Would it look good if i go with two different lights on opposite walls??? it would look odd right.

I feel partitions are not needed. You already have too much for the space. Adding a partition will shrink the space further. The simplistic solution, you do not wish to discard any furniture would be to paint all the walls in lighter pastles. And use some wall painting frames to highlight certain walls.

hi, u can use L155 which is not pure white but slightly dull but looks very good u can go lil on mushroom tones as well it might just elevate whole look. Asian paints colour fresh fuel. with combination of pure white in ceiling. uve to instruct painter to use pure white with blue reflection not yellow. hope this helps

Its just really messy right now. Too many colours and clashing prints. Is that Puja unit lime green? Or does it just appear that way because of lighting? Either way, it stands out like one more distraction. Pick one base colour add and add prints that go with that base. That TV unit HAS to go. So do that black metal coffee table and the carpet. I would suggest you go with a simple geometric print in the carpet. But apart from these obvious design gaffes, the structure has distinct possibilities, if you do a classic English style. Great ideas! Unfortunately, cannot remove the moulding or make alterations to it. Have a lot of art so that won't be an issue. Thanks!
