Perhaps they have them in your country. He cut them in half so they were only two feet deep and stacked them up to high counter height. you are thinking about the space right now. it looks odd, no doubt. 1) when you fill in with the furniture, just make sure the three steps are hidden. 2) consider three potted plants of different height, so the rectangle is complete. 3) glass bowl with Siamese fighting fish for each step 4) figurines of different heights 5) 2inch square wooden bar on each step up to the top of the rectangle. and complete the entire rectangle if you want with a smaller rectangle open in the center my suggestion is, there is a reason why this space ended up like this. it will look great once you put something there. things like these are what make your house unique.

Hey Naveen, Staircase is most underestimated space in the house. I would suggest you these ideas to repurpose it: 1. If you have a pet, make it a kennel. 2. Understair storage 3. Understair play area for kids 4. Understair sports point 5. Understair reading point 6. Understair bar 7. Understair laundry or mop cabinet Just add little more light to this area. Just because you want to use the space below the stairs, do not just add drawers or shelfs unless you reaalllyyy need it. I would suggest go for adding something green to your house. Its healthy by adding air purifying plants. These plants are nowadays available in most of the nurseries and moreover Green patch in the house gives a beautiful look to the house and is also good for eyes ( the green color).
