I would paint the entire fireplace including the mantel, all trim and shelving white. I like the Whisper White, but you must bring the paint samples into the room to see for yourself. The sheen on all woodwork should be semi-gloss, easy cleaning and looks crisp. I agree with painting the walls and I would paint the part above the mantel the same color as the walls, Summer Hue is beautiful, but once again I have no idea how that would look in your room. The walls should be flat most brands make a fairly easy to clean flat. If the fireplace were the focal point of the room, it could look very cool and dramatic to paint it a very dark gray almost black. But at least in this picture it seems that the entertainment/shelving unit is the focal point. hmm .... better stop while I am ahead.

I love dark shades but from my experience oil stains on a dark shaded cabinets in kitchen specifically are more prominent.

first of all, Thank you guys for those valuable inputs. yes, as far as cleaning goes, its just been finished installing and I have asked them to clean them up. And also, I observed that the frosting on the glass didn't look that good, so I am going for the filming on certain portions of the doors n windows. - Is there a particular quality of films that I may choose for this ? - Yes, lighting is definitely the criteria I had in mind which can bring up the finish to this. And i am worried about this , as I did not go for False Roofing, bcos the ceiling is already at a low height. I should really refine my ideas on the lighting part. - the stairs are floored with white Marble stone..My mom loves it and the matting on it might hinder its beauty, but yes I will surely consider that as well. You're Welcome Mr. Patel :) Yes there are some plants that are better suited to indoor environment here's a guide for the same: but no plant can survive indoors indefinitely. you will need to to keep rotating them weekly or every 2 weeks. are you partial towards glass then sure it can be used. maybe paneled glass partition or a stained one like you mentioned earlier like these: The room does seem a little cluttered, which maybe because of the many different styles and no of things too. I think that can be helped by lightening the space a little and maybe bringing in a bit similarity specially the side tables and coffee tables . i have suggested the sofa upholstery color in the previous comment. shades of sage in velvet. if not then light beige in linen is also a good option. If you keep the same upholstery i think a nice pastel color would look better. something light. you should also choose light cushions and carpet for these sofas. and if you keep the same sofas i think you should atleast change some of the tables.
