If you love that wallpaper, use it in bathroom. Not really right for behind bed. I would go a drum style chandelier. In a silk pale gold. Your bed looks zen or Asian to me. I love it. But, you don't. Need to much with it. Keep it simple a more formal drape on windows, color would depend on wall color and bedding. I'm thinking a dramatic peacock satin. Use a lighter same tone on walls a rich teal. Ceiling can be gold leaf. With alight that cast shadows on ceiling at night. Then your wall paper will tie in. Furn should be mirrored.

OK... but the wire wont be lower as it is fixed now. The wire in the pics below is the wall facing each other. They were leveled on equal height but the beam on one wall makes it seem a little above. But i think you guys are absolutely right that up and down lights wont look good there. I think you are right about down lights lessismoore. Would it look good if i go with two different lights on opposite walls??? it would look odd right.

go to a lighting show room, take pictures of the space and any ideas you have. They are best suited to help you. also have a budget. the how to part is nice but most consumers have no idea that the pendants above are probably 300.00 each. Two matching mini-chandeliers could work, but you have a vent and other holes in the ceiling and would have to work around them. If you can enclose a couple of the holes, you could place each small chandelier an equal distance from the center of the ceiling as it corresponds to the center of the table. I would suggest a large, square framed mirror over the fireplace and a large tapestry or other form of wall art on the back wall. By having two chandeliers, the wall art could be seen between them instead of being blocked by a single light fixture.There is a lot of plain space, and white-painted bead board wainscoting could break up the large, plain space and bring a different texture and color to the room. A solid-color area rug inspired by a color in the wall art or tapestry could help tie the color scheme together.
