Kids bedroom- can any changes be made to look more kid friendly
Comments (25)Its a really lovely room! what a great place for kids to share. I like kids sharing rooms. I think you need another colour to tie it together. I would suggest a blue tone.... teal, navy blue, duck egg blue. to tie it together. Its a little to pale and looks sparse, but actually isn't. I would leave everything exactly as is, BUT, paint the back wall behind the bed teal and find a simple navy blue wall decal that is fun and kid- like maybe one with a sillouette of a boy and girl playing. I would paint the wall behind the sofa duck egg blue. Then I think it would suit both kids more and look more kid friendly. the blues will balance the pink and cream, but because you have a pale carpet i don't think it will look too dark. don't worry about making it totally kid like, its a room they will grow with, not a kindergarten, and it also needs to peaceful and restful for sleeping. besides with their art on the walls and bright toys everywhere it soon looks bright and kid like. Good luck!...See Moreplease help...hello i have one sofa set and 2 single bed one tv in liv
Comments (76)HI RinaI do agree I love jewelbox rooms, but I consider them more cosy ... and with a grey marble floor it goes all Versace Italianate! I am trying to balance the colours by bringing in a pattern on the covers rather than plain. I feel this will bring colour without overpowering the room. In the pictures I showed above, the rooms are basically neutral but the colour is brought in via pattern - I think this might be the way to go...Ideally a green or blue on a subdued grey would be the best, but I dont know what the market is like for Sumit...Cushions can do a lot to tie in the other white/grey elements.Shelley - navy is a good suggestion, but as Sumits area is quite tall and thin, trying to keep the general area light Any more suggestions most welcome. These are just ideas after all and Sumit will choose what works for the room in the end ;-)...See MoreHow should I bring some life and spunk in this room?
Comments (32)First of all, I don't think that furniture is comfortable enough to sit and watch TV, so the TV should be remove from that room, the purple wall paper and the purple furniture is too much, you should consider another color for that wall and the furniture against the wall it doesn't look good. What is that room at the end is kind of dark and I cannot appreciate exactly what is the purpose of that room. I'm a firm believer in skylights, we have skylights in the laundry room, kitchen, living room and office, they make a big difference. (if you cannot have skylights (or tube lights) can lights are a great option. There are a lot of great ideas from everyone. I can't wait to see the after photos....See Morei have to furnish my bedroom modernly and in simple elegant look
Comments (4)Hi Zainaba, You may go for both American pleat curtains as well as roman cloth blinds for your window. 1] American Pleat Curtains These look lovely and add elegance and grace but have a tendency to "fly" with air circulation in the room. You can provide a weight chain to solve this issue. Also avoid giving lining to these curtains. Some of them such as linen and cotton curtains tend to shrink after being washed and their polyester/satin lining does not. In the process you may lose the shape of the curtain. Best to stitch the curtain and the black out lining separately and provide a two track curtain. Also keep the curtains length more than that of the window so that its bottom gets tucked in behind the bed back/headboard. It looks neater that way. Also, these can be easily removed and washed at home. 2] Roman Blinds Roman blinds are a neater option as far as window shades are concerned. The look graceful and showcase the fabric, its print and its make way better than the american pleat curtains. However, they are difficult to remove and you need to call the curtain tailor to have them removed for washing. Hope this helps! All the best! Regards, RnD Atelier Nagpur...See Moredblahusch
