Need help for my son's bedroom.
Comments (6)Her are maps used as window treatments...... I also saw another map VALANCE for a window a while back where just a portion of a map was used to create the valance. The map was cut the width of the window plus a few inches extra for each side return. The top of the map was stapled around the perimeter of a board cut to the window width. The board was attached to the top of the window with "L" brackets. Hemp rope was hot glued to the top to hide the staples and it added a nautical touch. The lower edges of the map were cute in an irregular shape following the lines of continents .... Have I totally confused you? Anyway, it was very creative and attractive....See Morekids bedroom
Comments (6)Hello Vini. 1- Please try to liven the head board with embroidery/ glass buttons 2- Get a matching foot board. 3- Bed and tables may be decorated with decals or hand painted. 4- The curtains may need a thicker lining. An additional large window is bringing in extra light inside. 5- Curtains may be made in Bordeaux pattern than current eyelet type. 5- Use a area rug in the room.. Comments (2)Hi Ashwini, A loft bed in the master bedroom is a good idea when - 1] Your kids are too young (4-10 years) 2] The room has a high ceiling 3] The room is big in size (at least 12' x 15') If all these conditions are met with, you may go for a design like this - In the above picture, the fan is at a reasonable distance from the loft bed. The beds do not eat away the bedroom space. Also later on when the kid's grow up, this space may either be dismantled completely or closed from the front to act as a storage space. On the other hand, kids tend to grow up fast and their needs change accordingly. Hence, investing in a permanent arrangement such as a loft bed might not be such a good idea. Options such as a sofa cum bed might be helpful in such situations - It is extremely functional and useful. 1] Your kids can use it for as long as they want 2] It can be easily shifted to other rooms 3] It can also work as an extra bed in the future (when your kids grow up and there are guests at home) As far as our opinion is concerned, a separate room for the kids is always a better idea - 1] They learn to live independently 2] You maintain your privacy as well as theirs 3] A separate room means more space and less clutter 4] Both the rooms can be designed as per the specific needs of you and your kids to result in better functioning spaces rather than just piling on and cramping one Hope these ideas help you with your design. Comments (10)Yep, I agree it's nowhere near Scandinavian. Although I tried hard to emulate it with the resources I had and conflicts with other family members, but oh well. But I'm trying to emulate the Scandinavian theme at least in the paint job. Do you think if I somehow achieved it at least in paint job it won't look good? I really like the color scheme of Scandinavian design. Edit: I really like the minimalism and coziness scandinavian design provies. Although, I do have to mention that I didn't mean to say that the photos that I've posted are necessarily scandinavian. I was just talking about the colors especially the white color....See MoreCeratec Tiles & Stone
