Comments (25)You have all the reasons to redo the house, its very lifeless and looks worn out. I feel creating a separation will terminate the spaciousness of the room. Adding colours will surely help, Since you have a tan color sofa,I suggest grey, white or light blue color on one of the walls. Add some art works of the color you chose for the wall. This room needs some fillers like , books, throws, candle stands tall and lean. YES DON FORGET 1. Mount the tv on the wall make some space on the floor and Fix a large size mirror ( Wooden Frame if you can afford)....See MoreDesign Input for new 3 BHK flat India
Comments (21)For the living room, the focus should be the balcony area. So flipping the couch to face the wall and not the dining table will help. Kind of like this pic. Even if you already have the sectional that is in the diagram, you should be able to flip it. In fact a sectional would probably work better than the couch in this pic. I also really don't like the style of this pic, but it showed what I meant, For the girls' room: No matter which bedroom you choose, you should maximize floor space so that they have the biggest play space possible in their room (as they get older you can add desks for school work and such). To get this space, I would give them bunk beds. This configuration gives them an open feel and more storage, essential for girls. You posted two different kitchen designs. This makes it hard to give you advice. I agree with other posts that your sink should be away from the wall. This allows you to have stuff to the left of you (drying dishes in my house), while you wash vegetables on the right of the sink. You need the same space on both sides of the stove, also. At least 24 inches on both sides is good. 36 is better, though. The first design has a nice little countertop space that adds a place for your daughters a space to sit a watch/ talk to you while you're in the kitchen. When they added this to the first design, you lost cabinets on the other wall. This is bad, as the space is already storage limited. Try making the rounded countertop bump out into the living space more. If you play with the shape, you could make it work without losing the cabinets on the other side. It doesn't have to be rectangular or a perfect circle. You can see how this one isn't confined to the floor plan of the kitchen. I think this is what you would need to do to make it the most functional....See Morehow to make lower kitchen cabinet floated?
Comments (12)Thanks Nitin and Ideal Lifestyle. Sorry for the late reply, I don't know why my net is not working properly from the last few days. Ny way, I actually see the foating kitchen cabinet in google image. May be that it not good for our Indian kitchen. I love the drawyer system that offered in modular kitchen cabinet. But at the same time I have no patience to dry the the kitchenware (cookware/dish etc.) after washing. Now we put it on the steel dish rack (commonly visible in Indian kitchen) hanged in our wall after every wash, which no need to first dry and then store. But I want to conceal the dishes, pressure cookers, kadhais in drawyers. In my dream kitchen big kitchenware should be concealed, hanging cookware like saucepan, tawa, frying pan would hang on s hooks in railing and open shelve for the dry goods in glass/tin/ceramic jar....See MoreHelp with Living room layout
Comments (17)Hey, we have a solution to your question. We have kept in mind the furniture that you mentioned and is visible in the pictures posted. 1. We suggest a L shaped sofa (that you plan to buy from Urban Ladder) to be placed right in front of the entrance. You can use your wooden chairs along with it next to a coffee table in the middle. 2. You can keep your writing desk next to entrance as it is almost the same width. 3. We suggest you keep dining table in the centre of the room, as it will closer to kitchen in that place. 4. We suggest that you create a half partition using your own furniture in the other end of the room. You can place your white book shelf (books facing the wall) in the middle and tall white cabinet in front of it making a T shape as shown in the picture. 5. You should mount TV on wall to save space and beside the book shelf have a backless sitting for TV 6. Behind the book shelf you can have a floor sitting for your Tabla practice and book reading. 7. We recommend you put some indoor plants next to your L shaped sofa and a small floor candle stand or showpiece in front of kitchen wall.
