A good watter proofing treatment is recommended. Make sure the water slope is properly done.

Post that ceramic tiles can be laid out. Mosaic is also used in this part of the country.

I appreciate your comments. We have done the proper sloping and waterproofing for the same reason but later we were not sure whether to do it or not.

As per your recommendation, i will re do the water proofing once again and select a suitable tiles for the flooring. Any other suggestion you want to add at the time of construction?

Hello Radha,

Second time waterproofing would be an overkill. Do you have any seepage issues if not it may not be required.

You also have covered that adds additional protection. Use Epoxy Grouting for better results.

Yes, as Cornerstone says, please don't redo the water-proofing if it has already been done once. Tiles are a far better option than decking with composed fibre-wood. No matter how hardy the latter material is, it is going to be a muddy and wet area, so please go with a good anti skid ceramic tile. Check on the final use with the manufacturer- that it is going to be laid on the terrace and exposed to sun. Use at least 3 mm spacers to allow for some expansion over a period of time. Also leaves enough space to insert waterproofing epoxy and secure the tiles

I thank both of you for the valuable suggestions. OK, I will rather concentrate on selecting the tiles than re do the water proofing. I will consider all those suggestions mentioned above while doing the construction. I really appreciate it.
