There is contrast between the traditional furniture and the focal point of the floor which pops, draws attention. I would recover the sofas in cream colored soft fabric - suede. I would leave the curtains grey, and put down a large neutral area rug. The edges of the room would show the pattern of the floor. I would color the wall and add texture to it, but not too dark as the room will appear smaller. Add a picture and put a nice plant holder, large vase in the left corner of the room - an oriental-style vase. Or, a cream-stripe fabric on the sofas. You could go soft or bold in this room - depending on your taste.

Manvisudan, choosing a rug more along the lines of what I showed will afford you the opportunity to add some fun and interesting pillows to your silver ones. Its easy to change your pillows when you want a different look. The rug, on the other hand, is a bit more of an investment. Let me know if you would like pillow and art recommendations :)

Hi, I have a montez leather sofa http://kasala.com/products/montez-leather-sofa It is the charcoal color - but sort of looks like a really rich dark grayish brown. And I have a matson coffee table found here: http://www.plummers.com/living/accenttables/matson-i-coffee-table/3626 These two look really nice on carpet floors, which is when I had purchased these. Now, I have a new place, and planning to put hardwood floors, and really confused about what would look good even with an area rug added. The coffee table has really rich wood like grains, and I'm not able to wrap my head around what would be a nice color. I tend to really like dark walnut shades with mild distress, and enough grain variations that damages are not visible. Hi Cynthia, thanks for your comment. I still haven't decided about lighting. First, I'm trying to get as much natural light as possible. If there are still some dark corners left, then I'm planing to use light on those areas.
